Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: you disagree with closing zoos, and the conclusion restates that they should remain open. You give several relevant reasons, including revenue, care for injured and endangered animals, and recreation for children, with examples such as your visit to Safari Zoo. However, the economic points are developed more fully than the animal-welfare argument, and some claims are unclear or insufficiently supported. The example about a US president visiting a Chinese zoo and importing an elephant does not clearly show how zoos attract foreign investment. To strengthen the response, explain how each reason supports your position and use precise, credible examples, especially when discussing conservation and investment.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has an overall structure: an introduction, a sequence of supporting points, and a concluding statement. Paragraphing and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “Last but not the least” help readers follow the main reasons. However, the progression is sometimes mechanical, and several ideas are crowded together rather than developed in distinct paragraphs. The investment example, for instance, moves from a US president’s visit to China’s investment in Pakistan without explaining the connection. Some references, including “their” in the final sentence, are unclear. Group each main reason into a focused paragraph and use linking phrases to show the relationship between claims and examples, rather than relying mainly on a list of transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “revenue,” “foreign direct investment,” “injured animals,” and “endangered species,” and these choices help communicate your main points. However, the range and control are limited by repeated or imprecise expressions such as “source of revenue collection,” “beauty of the country,” and “source of recreation.” Spelling errors such as “ststement,” “multipule,” and “endagered” are noticeable, while phrases such as “import of giant elephant” are difficult to interpret precisely. Aim for more natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, describe zoos as “tourist attractions that generate income” and explain that they “contribute to conservation” rather than using broad or awkward phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If there is a larger number of animals kept in zoos, it will attract more people.” The main argument is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships unclear. Examples include “I am disagree” instead of “I disagree,” “their is” instead of “there is,” and “people … prefer” where the subject and verb do not agree. There are also problems with articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, as in “It is also known a home” and the run-on transition between the investment examples. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete sentence punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
