Student answer (Band 5.5)

People now a days are concerned about keeping animals in the zoo or parks and they suggest that zoos should completly be abolished by the community. I partly agree on this statment because zoo provides better life to animals, however this also have some threats to spectators.

Firstly, Animals experieced convenient life in zoos becuse they are kept by them in a very good manner. These places offer suitable diet and regular medical checkup for several species so, they enjoy better life and also there is no risk of threat to them by dangerous animals. For instance a zoo monkey may look more healthy and fit then those who lives in a forest. Moreover, zoos provide great financial benefit to authorities. The animals can be kept into cages and displayed to humans, as if more people visits these places to witness such species, this result in incresed revenue for government. Apart from this, it also attracts tourists from different countries

However, Animals can pose greater threat to public. As if a dangerous animal lose his temper he can damage the sorrounding people which results in fetal injuries, while sometime it can prove to be life threatning. For instance my younger brother was badly approched by a lion in the zoo which results in damaging his knee. Furthermore, keeping animals in jars or prision like places can take independence from the them. some may die by ramaining alone becasue of no physical reation with others so it is better to leave them.

in conclusion, wild animals are kept in suitable and decent conditions in the zoos as well as by kepping them government can acquire money which can be used for further developments, however in some circumstance the animals may attack humans and blocked rooms can have negative impact on animal's lives

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You present a partly agreeing position and address both sides of the question: zoos may provide care and generate revenue, but they can also endanger visitors and restrict animals. The examples of a monkey appearing healthier and your brother being injured by a lion help make the discussion relevant. However, some points are not fully developed or clearly connected to whether zoos should be closed. In particular, the claim that zoos provide animals with a “better life” is asserted without considering captivity’s effects, while the revenue argument does not explain why this benefit justifies keeping zoos open. Your conclusion summarises the competing points but does not clearly restate your final view on closure. Develop the reasoning and make your position explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, and a conclusion. “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “However” signal the main stages, and the reader can generally follow the shift from benefits to risks. This clear overall arrangement is a strength. Some connections are nevertheless mechanical or unclear. For example, “As if a dangerous animal lose his temper” does not form a clear link to the preceding claim, and “Apart from this” introduces the tourism point without making its relationship to animal welfare clear. The final paragraph combines several ideas in one long sentence rather than drawing them together cleanly. Use more precise referencing and transitions, and organise each paragraph around one main claim followed by explanation and evidence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “suitable diet,” “medical checkup,” “revenue,” “spectators,” and “independence,” so the reader can understand the main subject and arguments. However, the range and control are limited, with repeated general terms such as “animals,” “places,” and “life,” and several inaccurate word choices or collocations that make parts difficult to interpret. For example, “kept into cages,” “blocked rooms,” and “approched by a lion” do not express the intended meanings naturally. Spelling errors such as “completly,” “sorrounding,” and “threatning” are also noticeable. Build a more precise vocabulary for captivity, animal welfare, and public safety, and check spelling and collocations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “because,” “while,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “this also have some threats” has an agreement problem, while “a dangerous animal lose his temper” and “more people visits” show inconsistent verb forms. The sentence beginning “As if” is incomplete or incorrectly connected, and the final conclusion runs several ideas together without clear punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly attached supporting clause, then check subject–verb agreement and punctuation.
