Student answer (Band 5.5)
People believe that the animals shouldn't be kept in the zoos any longer and zoos should be locked. I strongly disagree with the stated statement because zoos doesn't just lookup the animals or limit their freedom they take special care of them.
The people who are agreeing with the statement clearly misunderstood the core concept of the zoos. They are mixing the environment of the zoos with the jail but the zoos aren't a jail for the animals. It provides sheltor, food and health facilities to all the animals, and they have a whole staff dedicated just to lookafter them. I have a firm believe that zoos are not compromising the scene of freedom for animals as they dedicated special space with respect of every animal's prefrence and provided the toys they want to play with.
Moreover, the zoos are mostly considered a place for childern that not only beneficial for educational purpose but also its a fun and entertainment place to visit where kids get to all kinds of animals. Childern just not get to see the animals they also learn about the environment in which every animals live. for example, when they see jiraffe eating grass whereas the monkey is hanging on trees jumping from one tree to another eating bananas. They get to learn about how different animals prefer to eat different food and likes to do different activities. On the other hand, Its not just a place for animals actually its a place that connects people with the creativity of the nature. They get to see the varity of birds, animals, snakes and much more.
in conculsion, I want to state that i completly diagree with the opinion of closing zoos. These are the source of joy for the people of every age, through it people get the chance to interact with all kinds of animals. Zoos are the pure happiness and excitement for kids as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening: you strongly disagree with closing zoos, and you maintain that view in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including animal care and children’s learning, and the examples of different animals’ behaviour help illustrate the educational point. However, the reasons are not developed equally. The claim that zoos provide suitable space, toys and care is asserted rather than supported with a specific example or explanation of how this benefits animals. The discussion also focuses mainly on visitors’ enjoyment and education, so it does not fully address the central concern about whether animals should be kept in captivity. Develop that issue directly—for example, by explaining how conservation or rescue programmes can justify keeping some animals in zoos, while acknowledging possible welfare concerns.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces your position, presents animal care and education as supporting reasons, and ends with a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish these points, and connectors such as “Moreover” and “In conclusion” make the broad progression easy to follow. Some links between ideas are less clear or feel mechanical. For instance, the shift from children’s learning to “a place that connects people with the creativity of the nature” is not fully explained, and “On the other hand” does not introduce a clear contrast. The animal examples also form a long sequence rather than being tied explicitly to the learning claim. Use more precise referencing and transitions, and make each paragraph’s main point clear before adding supporting details.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including topic-related terms such as “health facilities,” “environment,” and “educational purpose.” There are also attempts at more descriptive phrasing, such as “connects people with the creativity of the nature.” However, the range is limited by repeated general words such as “animals,” “place,” and “get to,” while several inaccurate choices or collocations make parts less natural: “zoos should be locked,” “look up the animals,” and “source of joy.” Spelling errors such as “shel tor,” “prefrence,” “childern,” and “varity” also affect the impression of control. Build a more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and collocations so your meaning is expressed naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “whereas,” and “that,” and the overall meaning is generally understandable. However, some errors in agreement, sentence structure, articles, and punctuation remain. For example, “zoos doesn’t” should use a plural verb, and “It provides” has an unclear plural antecedent after “zoos.” In “Childern just not get to see,” the auxiliary is missing; the sentence needs a form such as “Children do not just get to see.” Capitalisation is inconsistent at sentence beginnings, and the long example sentence would be clearer with more controlled punctuation. Review subject–verb agreement and auxiliary verbs, then edit each sentence for complete structure and accurate punctuation.
