Student answer (Band 5.0)

There is an idea about zoos that we dont need animals kept in zoos any longer, although it should be closed. In my opinion, this idea is highly practical because animal were completly removed from there habitate also, their freedom vanished away from them.

First and foremost, due to keeping animals in the zoos has forget their natural habitate that leads there extinction; Beside this hunting is the most common and most violent method for their extinction. For instance, keeping the animals in the zoo also dangerouse for our eco-system because every living thing is connected to the worlds eco-system.

Another major reason for shutting the zoos completly is that; Whenever the parents went to zoo with there family especially, with there new born baby. Ussually, they stood very close to cells of wild animals, so its really dangerouse they will bit someone. For example, In recent years there is a news got viral in the social media about zoo, where family visited the zoo and they stand very close to the lion cell. Subsequently, the lion grabs their baby inside the cell and lion eat it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You state a clear position in favour of closing zoos, and you offer two relevant lines of reasoning: harm to animals and risks to visitors. However, the response addresses the task only partially because both arguments are under-developed, and the first is difficult to follow: the claim that zoos cause animals’ extinction is not explained or supported. The example about a lion taking a baby is vivid, but it is presented as a general news story without enough detail to show how it supports closing all zoos. The response also contains 187 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough space to develop your reasons fully. Explain each point with a clear cause-and-effect link and a relevant, credible example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction followed by two body paragraphs, and signposts such as “First and foremost” and “Another major reason” help identify the main points. However, progression within the paragraphs is not always clear. The first paragraph moves from habitat loss to hunting and then to the ecosystem without explaining how these ideas connect. In the second, the long sentence beginning “Whenever the parents went to zoo” makes the sequence of events difficult to follow. Some linking expressions are also used awkwardly, such as “Beside this” and “Subsequently.” Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain it and give an example; use referencing and transitions only where they clarify the relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “natural habitat,” “extinction,” “eco-system,” and “freedom,” and the reader can generally identify your concerns. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the argument unclear. For example, “their freedom vanished away from them” is an unnatural expression, while “dangerouse” and “habitate” are misspelled. “Cells” is not the appropriate term for zoo enclosures, and “the lion grabs their baby inside the cell” is imprecise. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “animals lose their freedom,” “enclosures,” and “pose a risk to visitors.” Check spelling and choose vocabulary that expresses the intended meaning precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic structures to express your position and give examples. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “due to keeping animals in the zoos has forget their natural habitate,” where the subject and verb structure are incorrect, and “Whenever the parents went to zoo with there family,” which is an incomplete clause. There are also recurring problems with agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, as in “animal were” and the semicolon after “extinction.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and articles before adding subordinate clauses.
