Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this modern and practical world, some people believe that zoos aren't neccessary in today's world, and there are no reasons for why animals should be kept there. I agree to this statement. After the accessibility of phone, internet, and safari parks, people can watch and gain knowledge about animals. Also, torturing animals to entertain human is a cruel thing.
Zoos were essential before the technological world when people had no access of phone or internet, and they must visit zoos to have some experience to watch wild animals, but things have changed a lot now. Children are watching videos of various kinds of animals in youtube, facebook and other content creation sites. People can visit safari parks, wildlife parks and have an experience of watching and feeding wild animals. For instance, Australia has some parks where residents can visit to witness animals roaming around freely, unlike zoos.
Animals are being captured by hunters from forests and kept in a very tiny area in zoo, which is a kind of torture to these creations. They used to hunt or search for food in a whole forest, but in zoo, a little amount of food is served only for survival. Furthermore, these creatures suffer from mental illness due to living alone in a cage, where they cannot even roar and make natural sound properly. For example, some lions died recently in Dhaka national zoo because they were not having enough food, water, and light.
To conclude, animals are not for enterainment of human beings. They have their natural habitat and area to live. Instead of keeping these creatures in cages, we can introduce more safari parks where they can roam around in a huge area. If this isn't possible, smartphones, internet and contents are still available to watch and enjoy them, there is no need of zoos.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I agree to this statement”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the central question with two relevant lines of reasoning: modern alternatives allow people to see animals, and captivity can harm animals. The examples of safari parks in Australia and the lions at Dhaka National Zoo help make the argument concrete. This is a well-supported response overall. To strengthen it further, develop the alternatives more precisely: explain how safari parks can meet educational needs while protecting animal welfare, and avoid broad claims such as people being able to “watch and feed wild animals” without qualification. A brief acknowledgement of conservation or rescue roles sometimes performed by zoos would also make the argument more fully considered.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and the conclusion restates your position. The progression from technological alternatives to animal welfare is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some features of stronger progression. However, connections between individual claims can feel mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “For instance” and “For example.” Some references are also unclear: “these creations” and “they” require the reader to infer the intended animals. Use more varied transitions and make pronoun references explicit to improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the argument, including topic-related terms such as “wildlife parks,” “captured,” “habitat,” and “mental illness.” However, the range and control are limited by repeated general words such as “animals,” “people,” and “things,” as well as several inaccurate or unnatural choices. “After the accessibility of phone” and “content creation sites” do not express the intended ideas naturally, while “entertainment of human beings” is awkward. Spelling errors such as “neccessary” and “enterainment” are noticeable. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your meaning clearer and your vocabulary more appropriate to an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including a relative clause in “parks where residents can visit” and a contrast introduced by “unlike zoos.” Most sentences remain understandable, and errors rarely prevent the reader from following your argument. Some grammatical problems persist, however. For example, “people had no access of phone or internet” has an incorrect preposition and article pattern, while “torturing animals to entertain human is” has a number and agreement problem. In “they must visit zoos,” the tense does not fit the past-time context. Review articles, prepositions, plural forms, and tense consistency, and proofread longer sentences for accurate structure.
