Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You state agreement in the opening and give relevant reasons, including that zoos let families and children see animals and learn about them. Your personal example of visiting a zoo with college friends also supports the idea that zoos can be enjoyable and educational. However, the response only minimally addresses the central question of whether zoos should be closed: it describes benefits of visiting, but does not explain why these benefits mean zoos should remain open or address the concern that animals may be harmed by captivity. Several points, such as animals being “very friendly,” are unclear or unsupported. Develop a consistent position and explain each reason with a clear link to the question.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The response has an opening, several body paragraphs, and a concluding sentence, and signposts such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “On my opinion and experience” show an attempt to organise ideas. However, information is not arranged coherently: the first paragraph’s claim that animals are “very close” is difficult to understand, and the next paragraphs repeat that people enjoy visiting and children learn. Connections between sentences are often unclear, with repeated use of “and” rather than showing how one point leads to another. The conclusion introduces no clear summary of your position. Group related ideas together, give each paragraph one main point, and use clear links between the reason, explanation, and example.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.0
You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “animals,” “zoos,” “children,” “experience,” and “knowledge,” and you attempt some specific examples such as lions and monkeys. However, vocabulary is highly repetitive, especially “different animals,” “enjoy,” and “beautiful,” and several word choices make meaning difficult to follow, as in “the very closed” and “the animals is to friendly.” Spelling errors such as “Nowdays,” “familes,” “childeren,” and “devloped” also strain the reader. Build a wider set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and word forms. For example, describe what visitors learn or how animals are cared for rather than repeating general praise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0
You attempt to form sentences and use simple sequencing expressions, but sentence structures are very limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes distorting meaning. For example, “I agree this statement” lacks a grammatical link, while “the animals is” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The opening, “animals to kept in the zoos,” also has an incorrect verb pattern, and “I am going with my friends so i visit” shifts tense confusingly. Many sentences are joined into long strings with “and,” making their structure hard to follow. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add controlled clauses using “because,” “which,” or “so.” Check verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
