Student answer (Band 6.0)
For many years, zoos are one of the source of entertainment for children and adults. Recently many people have proposed that animals should not be kept in zoos therefore it should be closed. I strongly disagree with this proposal because for many years animals in the zoos have entertained people specially children and has been a source of earning for the local government. People visitng zoos explore different animals which they cant explore anywhere else because they can be found either in the jungle or in the zoo.
Firstly, zoo is one of the place which is visited by people of different age groups. Many of us prefers to go there with our family and children to spend quality time. Zoos have different food stalls from where people buy food and eat. For instance, I remember going there with my parents when i was a kid. We clicked so many photgraphs and ate different type of street food. I am now an adult and still goes there with my kids and I still enjoy visiting zoo. Secondly, people can explore different types of animal which they dont get to see often. For example, animals like lions, tigers, leapords, elephants, wolves and many others are only found in jungles and forests where most of us can't go but zoo is the place which is accessible to everyone and people can visit their and they can explore different animals.
Another important factor due to which I believe that zoos should not be closed is that it contributes in the economy of the local government. It is the source of income for them. Almost every zoo has an entry ticket which people have to buy before entering inside the zoo. Secondly many zoos have street food stalls and activity stalls ran by the local government. I dont believe its a good idea to close a place from where local government is earning espacially In this era where generating revenue for the local government is becoming difficult
To conclude this,I believe zoos are benificial for both the government and people so it shouldn't be closed. Government earns from it and I believe it should be improved more so that it can be an attractive place to visit. On the other hand people entertains themselves by visiting there and explores different animals which are rare to find.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you disagree with closing zoos, and you give reasons related to public enjoyment, access to animals, and local-government income. The personal example of visiting with your parents and later with your children helps make the entertainment point relevant. However, the argument does not fully engage with the central concern implied by the proposal—whether keeping animals in captivity is justified. The claims that some animals are found only in jungles and that zoos generate revenue are asserted more than explained, and the economic point receives less development than the personal-experience point. To strengthen the response, address animal welfare directly and support each main reason with clearer explanation or evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion, with a generally clear progression from enjoyment and access to economic benefits. Linking phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “To conclude” help readers follow the main points. However, the repeated use of “Secondly” within the same body paragraph makes the organisation feel mechanical, and several ideas are joined without clear relationships. For example, the food stalls and family photographs interrupt the explanation of why zoos should remain open. Some references, such as “there” and “it,” are not always precise. Group related points more tightly, use a wider range of transitions, and make each paragraph develop one central reason.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including topic-related words such as “local government,” “entry ticket,” and “different types of animal.” However, the range is limited and several choices or forms are inaccurate or repetitive, which keeps expression from being consistently precise. Examples include “source of earning,” “explore different animals,” and “people entertains themselves”; these phrases sound unnatural or do not express the intended meaning clearly. Spelling errors such as “photgraphs,” “leapords,” “benificial,” and “espacially” also reduce accuracy. Build a more varied set of expressions for animal welfare, conservation, visitor access, and revenue, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the overall meaning is usually understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in subject–verb agreement, tense, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “zoos are one of the source” has a number-agreement problem, while “many of us prefers” and “I still goes” use incorrect verb forms. In “animals in the zoos have entertained people … and has been a source,” the verb does not agree with its subject. There are also tense shifts in the personal example and punctuation issues, such as the run-on ending without a full stop. Review agreement and tense consistency, and proofread sentence boundaries and articles.
