Student answer (Band 4.5)
yes we donot need to take the animal kept in zoos
Zoos run vital breeding programs for animals facing extinction in the wild, such as panda and loin.
Seeing real animals helps children and adults build empathy for wildlife and learn about environmental protection. Controlled settings allow biology to study animal health and behavior to help both captive and wild populations.
in mt think the zoo would be closed it is better because the animals are kept in the zoo animals didnot their live a life a properly they lived a life in zoos like a presime they didnot live a life peacefully in the zoo properly if the animals lived the the life in jungle they will will enjoy the life happy like a moon and very happy in the life and play with animals friend and enjoyed more and more their life in the jungle i think animals need to live the life in jungle animals and fully enjoyed their life in the jungle in zoo animals aren't enjoyed their life in the zoo as compare to the jungle life if the animals in zoo they are go out to the jungle when they are in od and soome birds are bring out to the zoowhen they are oold and didnot for flying in the air and birds are even old and donot take a food to make other animal for eating
in my opinon the animal go to jungle for living their life so their life is beether then the zoo and need to closed zoo or make a big zooo for animal for their needs

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a recognisable position: you argue that animals should live in the jungle rather than in zoos, and you briefly mention that zoos can support breeding, education and research. These points are relevant, but the response only partially develops the question. The opening appears to agree with closing zoos, while the paragraph about breeding programmes and learning presents benefits of keeping zoos, without explaining how you weigh these against your position. Your main argument—that captive animals cannot live peacefully or naturally—is repeated several times but receives little clear explanation or specific support. To strengthen the response, state your position consistently and develop two or three reasons with relevant examples, while addressing the benefits of zoos.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
There is some organisation: the response begins with a brief statement, gives possible benefits of zoos, then presents your view and ends with a concluding opinion. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the main argument is placed in one very long, largely unpunctuated paragraph. Ideas such as animals’ freedom, birds being brought to zoos, and food are joined without clear relationships, and the same point about jungle life is repeated. The opening benefits paragraph also sits uneasily beside the later argument because the contrast is not signposted. Use separate paragraphs for the introduction, each main reason, and the conclusion. Shorter sentences and clear links such as “However,” and “For example” would make the reasoning easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “breeding programs,” “extinction,” “empathy,” “environmental protection,” and “animal health and behavior.” This shows an attempt to discuss the issue beyond very basic terms. However, much of the later response relies on repeated, imprecise wording such as “life,” “jungle,” and “happy,” and several choices make meaning difficult to understand, including “like a presime” and “make other animal for eating.” Spelling and word-form errors are also noticeable, for example “loin,” “opinon,” and “beether.” Build a more precise set of phrases for animal welfare and captivity, and check spelling and collocations so your ideas are expressed clearly rather than repeated in general terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts some longer structures, particularly with “if” clauses, and the opening benefits paragraph contains several understandable sentences. However, the range is limited overall, and attempts to connect several ideas often produce faulty sentence structures. For example, “the animals are kept in the zoo animals didnot their live a life a properly” has unclear clause relationships, while “if the animals lived the the life in jungle they will will enjoy” mixes verb forms and repeats words. There are also frequent problems with articles, plurals, agreement and punctuation, which make parts of the argument hard to interpret. Practise writing one complete idea per sentence, then check subject–verb agreement and consistent conditional forms, such as “If animals lived in the wild, they would …”.
