Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is highly argued that animals should not kept in zoos and these things should closed. While having zoo has several benefits for society, in my opinion it has also some drawback which can not be ignore.
To begin with, no doubt zoo or animal parks have several benefits in the community. Firstly, these parks play vital role in life of children as many parents bring their children to these parks for amusement and pleasure. Secondly, with the help of these parks students come to know about the wild animals that how they live and survive and also other information related to wild community. Lastly, these places act as a link between animals and humas that many people know about different kind of animals which they cannot see normally and also learn how to communicate with them.
On the other hand, these communities and parks also bring cons that never be ignored. First and foremost, kepting animals in these cages are without their willingness is not a good thing as animals also has a right to live freely. Moreover, many people use them to earn money from people and hurt them if they not obey their rules or commands which is a bad thing for them. Last but not least, these animals only survive happily in wild enviroment as it present in their insticts but in this case they depend on people for food and other important things which sometime do not provide them properly which cause deaths of wild animals all around the world.
In conclusion, zoos play significant role for community especially for younger ones but these things portray cruelity and captivisam.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss benefits and drawbacks of zoos and give a concluding view that they have community value but are cruel. This is relevant to the question, but your position on whether zoos should actually be closed is not fully clear: the introduction says they have drawbacks, while the conclusion recognises their benefits without directly stating whether you agree or disagree with closure. The supporting points—children’s learning, animals’ freedom, and possible mistreatment—are appropriate, but are mostly asserted rather than explained with specific examples or evidence. To strengthen the response, state your position clearly and consistently, then develop fewer key reasons by explaining their consequences or illustrating them with a relevant example. This would make the argument more complete and persuasive.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting benefits, a paragraph presenting drawbacks, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad progression. However, the organisation is somewhat mechanical, with “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Lastly,” and “First and foremost” doing much of the linking. Some connections between ideas are unclear, particularly the claim that zoos teach people “how to communicate with” animals, and the final sentence does not clearly resolve the argument. Improve cohesion by making the relationship between each reason and your position explicit, using clearer referencing, and ensuring the conclusion follows directly from the argument developed in the body.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “wild animals,” “survive,” “cages,” and “depend on people for food,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “play vital role” and “act as a link.” However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors reduce precision: “these communities” is unclear for zoos, “kepting” is incorrect, and “cruelity and captivisam” are misspelled or inaccurately formed. Phrases such as “wild community” and “wild environment” are also not always natural in context. Build accuracy by learning common collocations for animal welfare and conservation, checking spelling, and choosing precise terms such as “captivity” and “natural habitat.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “as,” “which,” and “that,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. For example, “animals should not kept” is missing a verb form, “animals also has a right” has an agreement error, and “which sometime do not provide them properly” has unclear reference and faulty agreement. Some sentences also combine several ideas without clear grammatical connections. Practise accurate passive forms, subject–verb agreement, and article use, then check each sentence for a clear subject and verb. Aim to make complex sentences accurate before adding further clauses.
