Student answer (Band 5.5)
Zoos are the most beautiful place where a family can have a quality time and shows thier childern different animals within safe environment. If we no longer keep them in zoos then zoos will be closed and childern wont ever see them within safe enviroment. I totally disagree with this statement. I know every thing is available on Internet still there must be real time experience.
Zoos contain various animals and birds like monkey, rabbits, ostrich, pandas, pigeons and even lions. This place is the only safe oppurtunity where we can watch them and gather information. For example there are many school trips that go to zoo for the knowledge. Its a good activity for students. I, myself once went to zoo for my school project to gather some information regarding lions and elephants. It was my assignment to collect real pictures of animal and had to observe thier behaviour. If there there will be no zoo how can I will complete my assignment or able to capture live moments.
If someone says for sake of animals its not good, i would recommend plan some good policies for animals protection and needs. A spevcial system should be build to look after the animals and thier behaviour properly.
I conclude that animals should be kept in zoos with thier full protection and us having live time experience. Zoos should be present across the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you disagree with closing zoos, and you give relevant reasons, including children’s learning and your school project observing lions and elephants. These examples help address the question, but the argument is only partly developed. The response focuses mainly on educational benefits and does not explain in detail how zoos can meet animals’ welfare needs or respond to the opposing view that captivity harms them. The suggestion to create “good policies” and a system to care for animals is relevant but remains vague. The response is also 17 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons. Add specific explanation and support for both education and animal protection.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction states your view, the next paragraph gives educational examples, and the final paragraphs address animal protection and conclude. This makes the main line of argument understandable. However, progression is limited because the ideas are not consistently linked or expanded, and some connections are unclear. For instance, “If there there will be no zoo how can I will complete my assignment” repeats the personal example rather than moving the argument forward. Linking phrases such as “For example” and “I conclude” are useful, but the overall organisation relies on a small, repetitive set of signals. Give each body paragraph one clear purpose and connect the example explicitly to the claim it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main points, including “school trips,” “assignment,” “observe their behaviour,” and “animals protection.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the reader pause. For example, “quality time” needs a more natural expression in this context, while “real time experience” and “live time experience” do not clearly express the intended idea. Spelling errors such as “childern,” “oppurtunity,” and “enviroment” are also noticeable. Build a more precise range for discussing education and animal welfare, and check spelling and common word partnerships before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the reader can generally understand your position and examples. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently, particularly in sentence construction, articles, agreement, and verb forms. For example, “Zoos are the most beautiful place” has a plural agreement problem, while “how can I will complete my assignment” combines incompatible question structures. The opening sentence also lacks a clear grammatical structure around “and shows,” and “If there there will be no zoo” is faulty. These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Practise building accurate complex sentences with “if,” “because,” and “although,” then check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
