Student answer (Band 6.0)

We all visited zoo atleast once in our entire life. It is the place where many animals like lion, elephant and much more locked in prisions. Many peoples came from different cities to see these animals. It become our traditional culture. But some people argue that we no longer need to take animals kept in zoos and zoos should be closed. I disagree with this statement because zoos play a very important role in saving those animals who are about to extinction. They also play a important role in educating childrens.

Firstly zoos saved those species who are endangered or at risk of extinction. They gave them proper food, good and care and suitable environment. A well manged zoo is essential for animals. Some zoos also envolved in breeding, They breed endangered species or that animals who face habitat problem or hunting issues. They breed them and increase their population.

Secondly zoos also play a very important role in educating children. They give them a lot of information about many species. Childrens see many species at zoo who are at risk of extinction. This increase their knowledge about animals and their habitats.

Some peoples say that it is not good to take animals in small cages. But a well developed zoo take a good care of them. A professional care takers give them a suitable environment and proper food. Those zoos who are failed on fulfill these requirements shall be closed or improved.

In conclusion closing zoos without any reason is not make any sense. A well managed zoo saved indangered species and those who are at risk of extinction. While those zoos who are failed on fullfil these requirements shall be closed or improved.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you disagree with closing zoos, and you give two relevant reasons—protecting endangered species and educating children. You also acknowledge the opposing concern about animals being kept in small cages and offer a qualification that poorly managed zoos should close or improve. These points address the task well. To develop the argument further, explain how breeding programmes help particular species or give a specific example, and clarify what makes a zoo’s care adequate. The education point is relevant but less fully supported than the conservation argument. More precise explanation and examples would make the ideas more consistently extended.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two reason-based paragraphs, a paragraph addressing the opposing view, and a conclusion. Sequencing is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” help readers identify the stages of the argument. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical because several paragraphs begin with similar formulaic transitions, and repeated references to endangered species make the conclusion feel like a restatement rather than a final synthesis. Some references are also unclear, as in “those zoos who are failed on fulfill these requirements.” Use a wider range of linking methods and make pronoun references more precise to strengthen progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “endangered,” “extinction,” “breeding,” “habitat,” and “species,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific phrases such as “at risk of extinction.” However, noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors limit precision: “prisions,” “manged,” and “envolved” are examples, while “good and care” and “a professional care takers” are not natural expressions. Repetition of “very important role,” “animals,” and “species” also narrows the range. Build accuracy with common topic collocations and vary repeated words where the meaning allows.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple sentences and more complex forms, including a relative clause in “those animals who are about to extinction” and a conditional structure in “those zoos who are failed… shall be closed or improved.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas less clear. Examples include “It become our traditional culture,” “This increase their knowledge,” and “closing zoos… is not make any sense.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “A professional care takers give them.” Practise accurate present-tense agreement and build complex sentences from reliable patterns.
