Student answer (Band 5.5)

Forests are the natural habitats of animals. Authorities should release them into the jungles for their better growth. Zoos should be closed because they harm the animals by taking them in a cage and using them for the sake of money. I firmly believe that the animals who are under restrictions can't grow properly and they need proper enviroment in which they live freely without the violence of the humans.

To begin with, there are a lot of rules on animals who are living in zoos. This is a pressing issue because it has detrimental impact on their health. Like in zoos, animals are just for showing off. Some of them are nature friendly who are not dying to spend their life under pressure. Authorities should need to save the ecosystem by releasing them into the forests. For example, in Pakistan, a lot of animals are died in every single moment because the zoo officials treat them as a slave to make money.

Furthermore, it is good for enviroment to set them free instead of generating revene for the zoo. They have proper rights to take breath in a fresh air. This is beneficial for their mental as well as physical development. Forest are their major habitats. Therefore, to secure animals from extinction, there should be proper rules against those people who are keen of hunting. This can be overcome by setting high penalities. For instance, in Europe, the hunting is more prevalent today. This can be lead to serious issues for the enviroment because animals play a paramount role in society. They are not only essential for enviroment, but also for individuals.

In conclusion, there should be no regulations on animals. They must be set free into their habitats. I believe there should be a boundary line between animals and humans for the betterment of ecosystem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you argue that zoos should close and animals should return to natural habitats. You give relevant reasons, including animal welfare, freedom, and the risk of hunting, and you include examples from Pakistan and Europe. However, the response only partly develops the task. It does not consider possible reasons for keeping zoos, such as conservation or care for endangered animals, and some claims are asserted rather than explained—for example, that animals in zoos are “just for showing off.” The discussion of hunting also shifts away from whether zoos should close, and the conclusion’s call for “no regulations on animals” is unclear. Develop fewer points with clearer explanation and connect each one directly to the question.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. “To begin with” and “Furthermore” help signal the main points, and the ideas generally remain connected to animal welfare. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the second body paragraph moves from releasing animals to hunting penalties and then to animals’ importance to people without clearly showing how each point supports closing zoos. Some linking phrases are mechanical, and references such as “This can be overcome” do not clearly identify what “this” means. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, explain it in sequence, and use clearer references and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “natural habitats,” “ecosystem,” “extinction,” and “detrimental impact,” which helps communicate your position. There are also attempts at more formal expressions, such as “paramount role.” However, the range is limited by repeated general words and several inaccurate or unnatural choices, including “nature friendly,” “keen of hunting,” and “generate revenue for the zoo” where the intended meaning is unclear. Spelling errors such as “enviroment,” “revene,” and “penalities” are noticeable. These issues sometimes make the reader pause, although your main message remains understandable. Build precision by learning common collocations for animal welfare and conservation, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “animals who are under restrictions” and a conditional structure in “This can lead to serious issues.” Most sentences communicate the general meaning, but errors are frequent and some constructions are difficult to interpret. Examples include “animals are died,” “Authorities should need to save,” and “Forest are their major habitats,” which show problems with verb forms and subject–verb agreement. Articles and prepositions are also unreliable, as in “in a fresh air” and “for their better growth.” Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences with conjunctions and relative clauses, checking verb forms, agreement, and articles.
