Student answer (Band 6.0)

KEEPING ANIMALS IN ZOO JUST FOR HUMANS TO SIGHTSEE FOR FUN CAN BE CRUELTY TO THOSE ANIMALS . I STRONGLY AGREE WITH THAT WE NO LONGER NEED TO KEEP ANIMALS IN ZOO JUST FOR OUR FUN.

TO COMMENCE WITH,TO SUPPORT MY STATEMENT MY FIRST ARGUMENT WOULD BE THAT KEEPING ANIMALS IN ZOO IS CRUELTY, FOR INSTANCE IF WE KEEP ANIMALS IN ZOO WE SEPRATES THEM FROM THERE NATURAL HABITAT WHICH CAN DISTURB OUR ECOSYSTEM AS WE KEEP THEM IN A CONTROLLED ENVOIRMENT AGAINST THERE NATURE WHICH COMES UNDER CRUELTY HAPPENING AGAINST ANIMALS. SECONDLY ZOOS ARE MADE SO JUST HUMAN CAN SEE AND CAN ENTERTAIN THEMSELVES WHICH IN MY OPINION IS NOT A HUMANITARIAN THING TO DO, WE CAN WATHC DOCUMENTRIES IF PEOPLE ARE REALLY CURIOUS ABOUT ANIMALS AND THERE WAYS OF LIVING.

IN ADDITION, IT LOOKS VERY FASCINATING TO SEE DIFFRENT KIND OF ANIMALS BUT OTHER ALTERNATIVES SHOULD BE THERE BY WHICH WE DO NOT DISTURB THERE NATURAL HABITAT FOR INSTANCE WILDLIFE AND BIRD SANTURIES IN WHICH YOU GET TO TRAVELL AND SEE DIFFRENT KIND OF ANIMALS AND BIRDS WITHOUT DISTURBING THERE HABITAT. THERE ARE DIFFRENT DOCUMENTRIES ON ANIMALS WHICH WE CAN SEE FOR OUR CUROSITY.

IN MY OPINION , JUST FOR OUR SAKE WE SHOULD DISTURB WHAT NATURE HAS DESIGNED AS WE INDIVIDUALS WILL ALSO NOT LIKE ANIMALS ENETERING IN OUR HOMES SO WE SHOULD ALSO MAINTAIN THAT AS WHETHER ITS ANIMALS OR PEOPLE BOTH WANT TO LIE A PEACFUL LIVES AND BY PUTTING THEM IN ZOO FOR SHOW IS LIKE PUTTING THEM IN JAIL WITHOUT ANY CRIME.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the opening: you strongly agree that animals should not be kept in zoos for human entertainment. You give relevant reasons, including separation from natural habitats, the entertainment-focused purpose of zoos, and alternatives such as documentaries and wildlife sanctuaries. The comparison with animals entering people’s homes also reinforces your view. This meets the task well, and the examples show some development beyond simply stating an opinion. However, the ecological point is not fully explained, and the benefits or limitations of sanctuaries are not explored. To strengthen the response further, explain how captivity affects animals and clarify whether you believe all zoos should close, including those involved in conservation or rescue.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons and alternatives, and a concluding opinion. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with,” “Secondly,” and “In addition” help signal the progression of ideas. However, the linking can feel mechanical, and some connections between claims are unclear. For example, the statement that keeping animals in controlled environments “can disturb our ecosystem” is not clearly connected to the preceding point about separation from habitat. The final paragraph also introduces the comparison with animals entering homes without developing the link to the earlier arguments. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each example directly to the claim it supports; vary transitions and use pronouns carefully to make references easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “natural habitat,” “controlled environment,” “wildlife sanctuaries,” and “documentaries,” and phrases such as “putting them in jail without any crime” communicate your concern vividly. There is some attempt to use less common language, but accuracy and natural collocation are inconsistent. Expressions such as “a humanitarian thing to do,” “for our curiosity,” and “different kind of animals” are awkward or imprecise, while repeated use of “for fun” limits variety. Spelling errors—including “seprates,” “enviorment,” and “santuries”—also make the writing less polished. Build a more precise range around animal welfare and conservation, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons and examples, such as the sentence beginning “For instance, if we keep animals in zoo…”. This shows an effort to express connected ideas, but complex sentences are often difficult to control, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “we no longer need to keep animals in zoo” needs an article or plural form, while “we should disturb what nature has designed” appears to reverse the intended meaning. There are also recurring problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “both want to lie a peaceful lives.” Practise accurate article use, plural forms, and clause construction, and divide long sentences where necessary. More consistently accurate sentences would make your argument easier to understand.
