Student answer (Band 6.5)
Zoos were one of the most visited place in the past decade. With the rise of animals rights, many argue that animals should not be kept in zoos and many argue that zoos should be closed. I strongly agree with statement, as animals should be allowed to live their life in their natural habitats.
Many wild animals were kept in artifical environments so that tourist would pay or buy tickets to see them. These animals were deprived of their natural living conditions and were treated almost as a prisoners. As a result, these wild animals lose their sense of natural instincts and lived a passive life without any activities that naturally occur. There has been many reports that when a zoo born animal is released in the wild they find it very hard to adopt to the envirnment and might not succeed in finding a mate. Thus, animals should not be kept in zoos and should be allowed to live a natural life.
Jungle safari has become one of the famous way to observe wild creature in their natural habitats. Unlike, zoos were animals are kept in a room, animals live freely in a reserve area which promotes preservation of environment, natural resources and it's creatures. Wild jungle safaries in Africa and Asia has become a prominent way of animal watching which might take from few days to few weeks. The revenue earned from this is spend to conservation of wild animals and environment.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that zoos should be closed as it places wild animals in enclosed space and it's alternative like wild jungle safari should be promoted as it helps animals to live in their own natural habitat and also saves the natural environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction to the conclusion: you agree that zoos should close, and you give relevant reasons about animals’ restricted lives and the difficulty of releasing zoo-born animals. The alternative of wildlife safaris also responds to the issue by suggesting how people could observe animals without keeping them in conventional zoos. These ideas are extended with some explanation, particularly the contrast between enclosed spaces and reserves. However, several claims remain broad—for example, that released animals struggle to find mates—and would be more convincing with a specific example or clearer support. The conservation benefits of safaris are also asserted rather than fully explained. More precise development of these points would strengthen an otherwise clear response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present reasons and an alternative, and the conclusion restates your position. The progression from animal welfare to safari-based observation is easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “As a result,” “Thus,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent overall arrangement and shows some features of stronger progression. However, cohesion is occasionally mechanical, with repeated references to “animals” and repeated statements that they should live naturally. Some connections are also unclear, such as the shift from safari tourism to conservation revenue. Use more varied referencing and explain the relationship between each supporting point and your main argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “natural habitats,” “artificial environments,” “preservation,” and “conservation,” which makes your main ideas clear. There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “natural instincts” and “enclosed space.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “animals rights,” “a prisoners,” “adopt to the environment,” and “famous way” do not sound natural in context. Spelling errors such as “artifical,” “envirnment,” and “safaries” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent understanding, but more careful checking and more natural collocations would make the vocabulary more precise and fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures such as “As a result…” and a contrast introduced by “Unlike…”. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “Zoos were one of the most visited place” has a number-agreement error, while “There has been many reports” also needs agreement. In “animals live freely in a reserve area which promotes…,” the relative clause does not clearly match the intended plural meaning. Articles, plurals, and verb forms also need attention in phrases such as “a prisoners” and “the revenue…is spend.” Review agreement and sentence construction, then proofread for punctuation and apostrophe use; this will improve accuracy while preserving your attempts at complex structures.
