Student answer (Band 6.0)

These days, Kepting animals in the zoos is the pressing issue all over the globe. What is the most effective method of dealing with this matter ? It is considered to close zoos because we no need further to kept animals. I strongly disagree with this argument and in this essay i will support my opinion with examples.

First of all, It is completely injustice to several animals. What I mean by this is that most animals species are now endangered and at the risk of soon extinction. For example, If zoos are closed and animals spare independently in the surroundings, then due to scarcity of food every animal wandered in the forest. These animals are sometimes hunted by the other animals and also by the hunters. So, A direct consequence of this is the extinction of rare animals. If government will take some precautions on this burning issue, then it would be beneficial for many animals.

Secondly, closing of zoos directly affects the country's economy. It is widely acknowledged that zoos play a pivotal role in the country's economy. To be more precise, every zoo has some entry fares. These charges would help instituations to maintain the budget for the salary of employers in the zoo and the maintainance of the animals. If zoos are closed, then many employers will be unemployed.

In conclusion, Although it is considered to close zoos. I believe that closing of zoos has some disastrous impacts on animals and individuals. Personally, I believe that government pay more attention to zoos for survival of wildlife.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly disagree with closing zoos, and the conclusion restates this view. You give two relevant reasons—protecting endangered animals and supporting employment and the economy—and include an example of animals facing food scarcity and hunting if released. However, the first argument is not fully clear: the claim that animals would be left to survive independently does not explain why zoos are necessary for endangered species, and the point about government precautions is not developed. The economic paragraph also focuses mainly on entry fees, salaries and jobs, with limited explanation of wider benefits. Explain how well-managed zoos contribute to conservation, and support each reason with more precise detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “First of all” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress within each paragraph, and phrases such as “For example” and “To be more precise” help show relationships between points. This meets the expected level of coherent organisation and also shows some flexibility in linking ideas. At times, however, the connections are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “If government will take some precautions” follows the extinction claim without specifying what precautions are meant, while “Although it is considered to close zoos” does not form a clear contrast with the conclusion. Use more precise links and make each paragraph’s reasoning progress explicitly from claim to explanation and result.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “endangered,” “extinction,” “scarcity,” “pivotal role,” and “unemployed,” and you attempt less common expressions such as “burning issue.” This gives you enough range to discuss the topic, but inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural. Examples include “entry fares” for zoo admission charges, “spare independently” for animals living independently, and “instituations” and “maintainance.” “Completely injustice” also uses the wrong form of the word. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than adding formal-sounding phrases; checking spelling and word forms would make your arguments clearer and more convincing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “If zoos are closed…” and a relative clause in “animals species are now endangered and at the risk…”. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction. For example, “we no need further to kept animals” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “If government will take” uses an unsuitable form after “if.” There are also agreement problems in “every animal wandered” and “government pay.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, as in “It” and “i” after sentence boundaries and the space before the question mark. Practise accurate conditional forms and subject–verb agreement while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
