Student answer (Band 5.0)

Animals should be free they are not should be in the cage such as zoos where the zoos should be shutdown. In my opinion i disagree that zoos should be shutdown to free animals .

one of the main reason i disagree is beacuse zoos are used to protect the endangered species and also helps to breeding so that the species can not be completely vanishes however the animals in zoos are taken care by providing the food and medications if the animals are set to be free they may not get their food or suffer any illness and rather die.

Another important reason why i disagree to this statment is the people will educated by visiting zoos where they can't find wild animals in their respective living places and its too risky for the people who doesn't have any idea of the wild animals because if some one got hurt by any wild animal while treking or going to new places then they might be in danger without having awarness with that animal. and where the childrens can be educated by showing them how the domestic and wild animals will be.

So, i highly recommend to keep zoos open and taken care of the animals in that zoo with some precautions so it might be helpfull and also usefull for the coming generations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a clear overall disagreement and offer two relevant reasons: zoos may protect endangered species, and they can educate visitors. These points address the question, but the response develops them only briefly. For example, the claim that animals in zoos are protected from illness and lack of food needs qualification and support, while the education argument relies on a hypothetical risk to people visiting wild habitats rather than explaining what visitors learn in zoos. Your opening also says animals should be free, which conflicts with your stated position that zoos should remain open. The response is 224 words, below the required 250, so there is limited space to explain and support your ideas. Develop each reason with a specific example and make your position consistent from the start.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a concluding recommendation. This makes the main line of argument possible to follow, and phrases such as “one of the main reason” and “Another important reason” signal the two points. However, progression within sentences is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly in the long sentence about people being educated by visiting zoos and the risks of encountering wild animals. The opening also creates a contradiction that weakens the overall flow. Some linking is repetitive or awkward, including repeated use of “and” and the transition “So.” Organise each body paragraph around one clear claim, then explain it and give an example; use clearer references and sentence boundaries to connect the ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “endangered species,” “breeding,” “wild animals,” and “coming generations.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For instance, “species can not be completely vanishes” does not express the intended idea naturally, and “taken care by providing the food and medications” is awkward. There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “beacuse,” “statment,” “awarness,” and “helpfull.” Aim to learn accurate phrases for this topic and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help you explain conservation and education without relying on repeated general terms such as “animals” and “helpful.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with reasons, such as the sentence beginning “one of the main reason i disagree.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty, so the reader has to work to understand some points. Examples include “Animals should be free they are not should be in the cage,” where clauses are joined without suitable punctuation and the verb pattern is incorrect, and “the people will educated,” which is missing a verb form. Subject–verb agreement and sentence construction also cause problems in “the childrens can be educated” and “the species can not be completely vanishes.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed supporting clause before attempting longer structures.
