Student answer (Band 5.0)

WE DONT KEPT ANIMAL IN ZOOS FOR LONGTIME , SO ZOOS OUGHT TO BE DEPARTURE. I COMPLETTELY AGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT BECAUSE KEPT ANIMAL IN ZOO FOR LONG TIME BECAUSE EVERY ONE HAS RIGHT TO MOVE FREE IN WORLD AND ALSO IT MAKES ANIMAL SCARED.

ONE THE ONE HAND, NOWDAYS THERE ARE MANY ANIMALS WHO ARE IN ZOO AND THEIR ENTIRE LIFE IS SPEND IN ZOO. THIS HAS GREAT BAD IMPACT ON THEM BECAUSE EVERY ANIMAL HAVE EQUAL RIGHT TO MOVE ALL AROUND THE WORLD. THEY HAVE FULLY RIGHT TO MOVE ONE PLACE TO ANOTHER PLACE . BUT INDIVIDUALS KEPT THEM FOR THEIR OWN USE LIKE TO KEPT IN ZOO FOR OYHERS ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSE . WHICH IS NOT GOOD ALSO DUE TO THIS THERE ARE MANY FAUNA SPECIES WHICH GONNA BE DIE IN ZOO BECAUSE OF LACK OF FREEDOM .

ON THE OTHER HAND, THAT ARE ONT ONLY REASONS BUT THERE ARE SOME VITAL REASONS. DUE TO THIS MANY ANIMALS ARE BEING SCARES INSTEND OF MAKIND FREELESS THEY BECOME SCARED ANIMAL. ADDITIONALLY, IT REDUCE ANIMALS LIFESPAN BEACOUSE WHENEVER THY LIVE IN SMAE PLACE THEY BEING FEEL BORED AND WALK TO THE WAY OF DEATH BECAUSE THEY FEEL DO NOT GOOD AT THAT TIME THAT IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST DISADVANTAGE .

THEIR IS NOT NEED TO KEPT ANIMALS IN ZOOS FOR LONG TIME , CONSEQUENTLY ZOOS SHOULD BE CLOSED . THE STATEMENT IS RIGHT BEACOUSE DUE THIS ANIMALS LIFESPAN IS REDUCE AND ALL HAVE EQUAL RIGHT TO MOVE ALL OVER THE WORLD .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you completely agree that zoos should close, and you give relevant reasons concerning animals’ freedom, fear and wellbeing. The response also has an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. However, the reasons are mostly asserted rather than explained or supported with a specific example. For instance, you say animals may die because of a lack of freedom and that living in the same place reduces their lifespan, but you do not explain how this happens or provide evidence or an example. The discussion also repeats the idea of freedom without developing a distinct argument about whether any zoos might protect endangered animals. Develop each main point with a clear explanation and a relevant example to make your response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure, with an opening position, two body paragraphs introduced by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a concluding statement. These divisions help the reader identify the main stages of your argument. However, progression within the paragraphs is often difficult to follow: several claims are joined together without clear links, and the second body paragraph begins “that are not only reasons” without clearly connecting to the previous point. Some linking phrases are used mechanically or inaccurately, while repeated references to freedom and animals do not build the argument forward. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, then explain it in a clear sequence and use pronouns or linking expressions only when their reference is unmistakable.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “equal right,” “entertainment purpose,” “fauna species” and “lifespan.” However, the range is limited and many expressions are repeated or used inaccurately, which sometimes makes the meaning hard to understand. For example, “zoos ought to be departure” does not express the intended idea, and “become scared animal” is not a natural phrase. There are also frequent spelling errors, such as “complettely,” “nowdays” and “beacouse.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations rather than more complicated wording: for example, describe animals as being “kept in captivity” and explain that this may affect their “physical and psychological wellbeing.” Proofreading spelling and word forms will also improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences using reasons and linking clauses, but control of sentence structure is limited. Errors in verb forms and agreement occur throughout, as in “their entire life is spend,” “every animal have,” and “it reduce animals lifespan.” Several sentences are incomplete or difficult to parse, including “Which is not good also due to this…” and “because they feel do not good at that time.” Articles, plurals and sentence boundaries also need attention. These errors frequently make the reader work to understand your meaning. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with one clear subordinate clause, checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms in each sentence.
