Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people argued that people no longer need to have wildlife kept in zoos and zoos should be closed. I strongly agree with this because of many significant reasons.
Keeps animals in zoos for long time it has significant impact on wildlifes. First of all, keeping animals in zoos animals lose their ability for hunting. Although kepping animals in zoos important for knowing about animals, they lose their freedom. Another disadvantage disadvantage of zoos they can go wrong with the orginal purpose. Some organizations who just focus on pofit rather than protecting them. For example they try to catch rare and put them in the cage in order to attract more people and increase their profit. Finally, animals are just like humans, the should have the righ to enjoy their freedom.
Furthermore, kept animals in zoos it is harmful for every animals.. after keeping long time in zoos animal lose their hunting skills. Aditionally, they can not survive in a cage long time. For example many of animals died often for lake of take care and proper food. Although keppings animals in zoos has many benefits, its can lose animals physicals insicts for hunting. animals should kept zoos for short time rather than long time it can maintain both animals and humans. knowing about animals movement kepping in zoos is essential but animals should have right to live as they wish. Finally, wildlife in zoos help children know about them and improve knowladge, while animals need to freedom for surviving the enviroment. Therefore, animals should keep for short time no long time.
In conclusion, I believe that, zoos should stopped bacause of many reasons like animals lose their hunting skills and can not survive the enviroment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion: you agree that zoos should close. You give relevant reasons, including loss of hunting skills, restricted freedom, and organisations prioritising profit, and the example of capturing rare animals helps illustrate exploitation. However, the response does not consistently develop these points. The discussion shifts between closing zoos and keeping animals in them for a short time, so your final position becomes less definite. The claim that animals die from poor care is also introduced without a specific example or explanation. To strengthen the response, decide whether you support closure or limited, well-managed zoos, then explain each main reason with a clear example and connect it directly to that position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “First of all,” “Furthermore” and “In conclusion” show an attempt to organise ideas. However, progression within the body paragraphs is difficult to follow: the second paragraph repeats the point about hunting skills, then moves between animal welfare, short-term captivity and children’s learning. The contrast between agreeing that zoos should close and saying animals should be kept for a short time is not clearly resolved. Some linking words, including “Although” and “Finally,” do not establish clear relationships between the ideas that follow them. Group related reasons together, avoid repeating points, and use transitions that show whether you are adding, contrasting or concluding an argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “freedom,” “hunting skills,” “rare” and “profit,” which helps communicate the main concerns. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “animals,” “zoos” and “hunting.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “wildlifes,” “orginal,” “pofit,” “lake of take care” and “knowladge”; these can make parts of the argument harder to understand. Some combinations are not natural in English, for example “lose their freedom” is understandable but “are deprived of their freedom” is more precise in this context. Build a small set of accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a concession beginning “Although” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or faulty, which sometimes makes the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Keeps animals in zoos for long time it has significant impact” lacks a clear subject and has an unclear clause structure; “Some organizations who just focus on profit” is a fragment; and “animals should kept zoos” is missing necessary verb forms and prepositions. Agreement, articles, plurals and punctuation also need attention, as in “every animals” and the double full stop after “animals.” Practise building complete subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check each sentence for a clear verb.
