Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people argue that keping animals in zoos is no longer necessary and zoos should be shut down . Icomptele disagree with this view. Although zoos have some drawbacks, but they play a vitial rule in animals conservation, education and in scientific research.
On the one hand, there are many advantages of zoos . Firstly, they save and take care of endangered animal species ,for example, Panda, White Tiger, and Markhor. Furthurmore, due to deforestraion and hunting the figure for animals fall down rapidaly but in zoos many breeding programms are helping in preventing of breeds . Moreover, children and other people not only can learn many new things by seeing animals in real instead of TV but also gave chance to many scientists to research on animal's behaviours and apply new strategies for the wellfare of animals.
On the other hand, zoos also have some negative impacts. For instance , animals are kept in small cages which is not good however, compteley banned the zoos is not a wise solution . instead of closing zoos government pay attentions to improves them by applying modern technology like bigger enclosures and also creat natural habitates for aminals because animals feel freedom and remain healthy and save .
in conclusion, zoos should not be closed because their benifits for conservation and eduaction outweigh their disadvantages. if the Government regulates them strictly, they will bocome more effective in wildlife preservation and play vital rule in safeguarding biodiversity and rare species of both fulara and fauna.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I completely disagree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address both the benefits of zoos and the concern about animals being confined, then offer improvement rather than closure as your solution. Conservation, breeding programmes, education and research are relevant reasons, with examples such as pandas and white tigers. This covers the task well, but some points are asserted more than explained: for instance, the research benefit and the claim that modern enclosures would keep animals healthy could use a specific example or clearer reasoning. The response already shows a developed position; fuller support and more precise explanation of each main idea would make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on benefits, a paragraph acknowledging drawbacks, and a conclusion. “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. However, some links feel mechanical, and the long second paragraph combines several distinct ideas—conservation, breeding, education and research—without enough separation or development. The contrast paragraph also moves quickly from small cages to government improvements. Use clearer topic sentences and divide or sequence supporting points so each paragraph develops one central idea. Check references such as “they” in the final sentence, which could refer to zoos or governments, to make connections more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “endangered animal species,” “breeding programmes,” “enclosures,” “wildlife preservation” and “biodiversity.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond basic everyday language. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “vitial rule,” “figure for animals fall down,” “preventing of breeds” and “natural habitates.” Some wording makes the intended meaning less clear, particularly “gave chance to many scientists.” Aim for accurate collocations and word forms, and proofread spelling carefully. More precise phrasing would help you express your ideas naturally while retaining the useful subject-specific vocabulary already present.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex forms, including a concession (“Although zoos have some drawbacks…”) and a contrast structure (“not only… but also…”). Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “Although …, but” uses two contrasting markers where one is needed, and “animals are kept in small cages which is not good” has a disagreement between the plural noun and “is.” There are also problems with verb forms and sentence construction in “government pay attentions to improves them” and “children … gave chance.” Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns, and use full stops to break up long sentences. Greater control of these forms would make your varied sentence attempts clearer.
