Student answer (Band 5.5)
Animals are no longer needed to kept in zoos, so we should be closed zoos. From my opinion i can not strongly agree with this or I can disagree with this, it depends on which types of animals we are keeping in the zoo.
Zoo is the place where different kinds of animals are kept to show visitors. If zoos get closed, many vistors will not get to know different kinds of animals, and the children can not get a in details and physical knowledge of any animals. In the zoos many school go on study tour to show their students many animals to understand the biodiversity and the chain of the environment. If zoos are closed students may loss the chances to get to know about many animals, as well as visitors may get a less visiting place on their list.
On the other hand If I think about the animals, zoos should be closed and no need to keep animals. Because in zoos animals do not get their natural life, they stuck in a small cages. It may show people to them but people are not seeing their sadness inside this small cage and missing their natural diversity in the forest. We know animals get their natural life just in the forest, which can't be in the zoos, a lion loves to hunt his own food from the forest that is the real scene in their life, but if he stuck in a cage and foods are serving infront of him can't define his bravery.
So to know more about different kinds of animals especially for students and children zoos should not be closed. On the other hand to give the natural life to animals zoos should be closed.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both educational benefits and animal welfare, so the response is relevant to the question. However, your position is not clear: the opening says you “can not strongly agree” or “can disagree,” and the conclusion says zoos both “should not be closed” and “should be closed.” This leaves the reader unsure which view you support. The ideas are also only partly developed. For example, you explain that zoos can help students learn about biodiversity, but do not give a specific example or address whether this benefit could be provided in another way. Likewise, the argument about animals’ restricted lives would be stronger with further explanation. State a definite position and support each main reason with a developed example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about visitors and education, a contrasting paragraph about animal welfare, and a conclusion. The contrast is signalled with phrases such as “On the other hand,” which helps readers follow the two sides. However, progression is weakened by the unresolved position and by the conclusion repeating both sides without deciding between them. Some links are also mechanical or unclear, particularly the repeated use of “If zoos…” and the long sentence beginning “In the zoos many school…”. Organise the body around a clear argument, use each paragraph to develop one main point, and make the conclusion follow logically from the position established in the introduction.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “biodiversity,” “natural life,” “visitors,” and “hunt,” and these choices make the main subject understandable. There is some attempt to use more specific language, such as “the chain of the environment,” though this expression is not natural in context. Several word-choice and collocation errors make parts of the response awkward, for example “a less visiting place,” “get a in details,” and “foods are serving.” Spelling errors such as “vistors” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable range of topic vocabulary and check whether phrases sound natural in English; for instance, describe zoos as “educational attractions” and animals as living in “captivity.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If zoos get closed…” and a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “Animals are no longer needed to kept,” “we should be closed zoos,” and “they stuck in a small cages,” where verb forms and sentence construction are not controlled. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in “a lion loves” followed by “he stuck.” Practise forming complete clauses with accurate subject–verb patterns, and proofread each sentence for verb form, articles, and singular/plural agreement.
