Student answer (Band 5.5)

Whether animals kept in zoo or not and zoos should be closed is the part of debate. I partially agree with this statement. In my opinion, it depends on the type of species of animal. This essay will discuss both points and reasond for that.

On one hand, its considered that animals should be kept in zoos. In my point of view, there are many kinds of herbivours and carnivours that are in the verge of collapse. They are disappearing so fast from the nature. In zoos they have many fascilites and medical care so they can survive and their bloodline can be saved. Another benefit of zoos are that they are great source of income as well for the individuals or for the government. For example, in China pandas are kept in zoos with natural environment to prevent then from disappearing.

On the other hand, mammals should have their right to live freely. Zoos bound them in a specific environment without interacting them with nature and other animals. Foreasts are the home on these species and separating them from their place is the violation of their rights. Also, keeping them in zoo also required trained caretakers and medical staff for them. So, it should be better not to kept them if someone is not eligible. For instance, animals that live in jungle are far mor happier than the on in zoos.

In conclusion, the type of animals depends wether they could kept in specific environment or set freely. While rare type of mammals need specific care to control them from their extinsion, general animals should be set free.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a relevant, partly balanced response and state a qualified position: whether animals should be kept depends on their species. The points about conservation, veterinary care, freedom, and unsuitable zoo conditions address the question, and the panda example helps illustrate the conservation argument. However, the response does not fully develop whether zoos should be closed: the income point is asserted rather than explained, and the distinction between rare mammals and “general animals” remains unclear. Your conclusion repeats the conditional position but does not resolve how it applies to zoos as institutions. Explain what kinds of zoos, if any, should remain open and support each main reason with clearer detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signposted by “On one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of discussion easy to follow. Some links and references, however, are mechanical or unclear. For example, “For instance, animals that live in jungle are far more happier than the on in zoos” does not clearly connect to the preceding point about trained staff, and “they” in the opening body paragraph could refer to several animal groups. The conclusion also moves quickly from the discussion to a broad distinction between rare and general animals. Use more precise referencing and make each example directly support the point in its paragraph.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “medical care,” “bloodline,” “natural environment,” and “extinction,” and you attempt to express ideas about conservation and animal welfare. However, inaccurate spelling and word choice are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear: “herbivours,” “fascilites,” “Foreasts,” and “extinsion” are examples. Several phrases are also unnatural, such as “in the verge of collapse,” “from the nature,” and “great source of income.” These issues limit precision despite the relevant vocabulary. Build accuracy with common collocations and check spelling, while choosing specific terms such as “endangered species” rather than broad or imprecise descriptions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast between the two sides and a conditional idea in “if someone is not eligible.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms occur across the response. For example, “Whether animals kept in zoo or not and zoos should be closed is the part of debate” is difficult to parse, while “animals should have their right” and “it should be better not to kept them” show problems with articles, number, and verb form. There are also agreement and construction errors in “Another benefit of zoos are” and “keeping them in zoo also required.” Practise accurate clause construction and verb patterns, then proofread for articles and agreement.
