The table below shows the change in some household types in Great Britain from 1971 to 2007.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table illustrates the people in households by type of household and family in Great Britain from 1971 to 2007. The data are measured in percentages.

Overall, there was significant variation amont the different houhold types, with couple with dependent children recorded the highest, while lone parent houlshold showed the lowest.

It is clear from the data that one person stood at 6% in 1971, then increased double to about 11% in 1971, and finally rose slightly just 12% in 2007. Couple with no children represented to 19% in 1971. It then gradually rose to about 23% in 1971 and reaching at 25% by 2007.

Now, turning to details, couple wiht dependent children experienced for the highest proportion about 52% in 1971, while considerably declined to about 41% in 1971 and it continued to decreased by the end of the year, whereas couple with non-dependent children household showed at 10% in 1971 and fluactuated about 11% between 1981 to 2001, it then slightly declined to about 9% by 2007. Lone parent household represented for the lowest compared to the other households throughout the period, it stood at 4% in 1971, then it rose gradually to 10% in 1991, and finally reached at 12% by 2007.
