Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response covers the main features of the data and makes relevant comparisons. You have identified the key trends, such as the decline in couples with dependent children and the rise in one-person households. However, the report lacks precision in some areas; for instance, stating 'the ratio rendered between 41 to 36' is vague, and the description of the data could be more analytical by grouping trends more effectively. While you have addressed all parts of the task, the overview is slightly simplistic and could benefit from a more comprehensive summary of the most significant changes across the entire period.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Moreover' and 'Lastly', to link your points. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'the ratio rendered between 41 to 36 in current years', where the connection to the previous data point could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different household categories, which helps the reader follow the information.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'calibrated', and 'surpass'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'At the fleeting glance' (should be 'At a fleeting glance' or 'At first glance') and 'percentile decline' (should be 'percentage declined'). The use of 'ratio' is sometimes used where 'percentage' or 'proportion' would be more accurate. While communication is not impeded, the range is limited to the requirements of the task, and more precise vocabulary would improve the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'the ratio in one person were 6 percent' (subject-verb agreement), 'which incline to 20%' (tense inconsistency), and 'the ratio did not surpass by 4%' (incorrect preposition usage). While these errors are noticeable, they rarely impede the reader's understanding of the data. To reach a higher band, you should focus on subject-verb agreement, consistent verb tenses when describing past data, and more accurate use of articles and prepositions.
