Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses the task requirements by summarizing the main features of the table. You have identified key trends, such as the decline in households with dependent children and the rise in one-person households. However, the overview is slightly inaccurate; you state that 'dependent children varies the highest percentage,' which is true, but then claim 'lone parent experienced the lower rate,' which is not entirely accurate as the data shows other categories at different times. Additionally, some descriptions are overly mechanical, simply listing figures year-by-year rather than synthesizing the data into clear comparative trends. To improve, focus on grouping data points to highlight significant changes rather than listing every single percentage.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'Overall,' 'At the fleeting glance,' and 'Moving ahead' to transition between ideas. However, some of these transitions are slightly unnatural or misused, such as 'At the fleeting glance' (a mix of 'at a glance' and 'fleeting'). The referencing is generally clear, but the flow between sentences is sometimes repetitive, relying heavily on 'in [year]' structures. Improving the variety of linking phrases and ensuring that the progression of ideas is smoother would help elevate this score.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information, but there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors. For example, 'household chaos' is an inappropriate term for 'household types,' and 'explored the highest' is not the correct collocation for data trends. You also have some spelling errors like 'sligertly' (slightly) and 'timeperiod' (time period). While the vocabulary is adequate to communicate the main points, it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. Focus on using more academic collocations related to data reporting, such as 'accounted for,' 'witnessed a decline,' or 'remained stable.'

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. For instance, 'dependent children varies the highest percentage' contains a subject-verb agreement error, and 'in between 1971 to 2007' is grammatically incorrect (it should be 'between 1971 and 2007'). There are also issues with preposition usage and tense consistency. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and correct prepositional phrases.
