PEOPLE IN HOUSEHOLDS BY TYPE OF HOUSEHOLD AND FAMILY

Student answer (Band 5.0)

The give table graph demonstrates how household spred among people during Great Britain ages. Overall, many individualls prefered to live with their partners, meanwhile, the number or rents from lonely ones hardly even reached a main point.

In the start of the ages one-family households with dependent children have already maintained above half of a sales. But, after thirty six years up until 2007, this measurements showed this type of houses faced one of the biggest declines down to 36 percents from higly 52. As a result, other kinds of households seemly increased in number. For example, lone parent and sigle person types, which illustrated the lowest scores, by the 2001 to 2007 raised enough to reach similar and stable peaks.

The no children couple housholds also need an attention, because even after three decades it growed steadly until also 2001 and stabilized in 2007, besides that, by maintaining second place all the time. Up to say, the past third place by sales, households amoung a non-dependent children families, moderately grew before 2001 and eventually faced drops next 8 years with the smallest persentage number of all.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the data, such as the decline in family households with dependent children and the rise in single-person households. However, the analysis is hampered by significant inaccuracies in interpreting the data. For instance, the claim that single-person households illustrated the 'lowest scores' is factually incorrect based on the provided table. Furthermore, the description of trends is often vague, using terms like 'enough to reach similar and stable peaks' without referencing the specific data points. To improve, you must ensure that your summary is grounded in the actual figures provided and that you clearly distinguish between different categories rather than using imprecise language.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression is often disrupted by unclear referencing and awkward phrasing. For example, the transition 'Up to say, the past third place by sales' is confusing and does not effectively link the ideas. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often applied incorrectly or in a way that makes the sentences difficult to follow. To achieve a higher band, focus on using transition signals that clearly indicate contrast or sequence, and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often inappropriate for an academic report. There are frequent errors in word choice, such as 'sales' instead of 'households' or 'percentages', and 'spred' instead of 'distribution'. Phrases like 'lonely ones' are too informal for an IELTS Task 1 response. Additionally, there are several spelling errors, such as 'individualls', 'prefered', 'sigle', and 'persentage'. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to data description (e.g., 'proportion', 'fluctuation', 'trend') and proofreading your work to eliminate basic spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with verb tenses, such as 'it growed steadly' (should be 'grew steadily') and 'this measurements showed' (should be 'these measurements'). Sentence structures are often awkward, and there is a lack of control over basic syntax, such as in the opening sentence: 'The give table graph demonstrates how household spred among people during Great Britain ages.' To improve, you need to focus on subject-verb agreement, correct tense usage for describing past data, and the proper use of determiners.
