Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task well. You have successfully identified the main trends, such as the decline in households with dependent children and the rise in one-person and lone-parent households. You have also made relevant comparisons between categories. The overview is clear and highlights the most significant changes. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are accurate; for instance, you mentioned that one-person households remained unchanged in 2007, but the data shows a slight shift. Overall, the information is well-selected and effectively reported.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a summary. Each paragraph focuses on a specific aspect of the data, which aids readability. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'Meanwhile', 'Furthermore', and 'In contrast' to link ideas effectively. However, there are minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the slightly awkward phrasing 'in same period'. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'fluctuated', and 'substantially'. There are some spelling errors, such as 'unchaged', 'housholds', and 'flunctuated', which are distracting but do not impede communication. You also have some minor word-choice issues, such as 'the figure of couple', which should be 'the figure for couples'. To improve, focus on accuracy in spelling and collocation. Using more precise vocabulary to describe trends, such as 'upward trajectory' or 'marginal increase', would also help elevate your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While many sentences are clear, there are several grammatical errors that occur throughout the text. For example, 'the percentage of couple without children was rose' contains an incorrect verb form, and 'in same period' is missing an article. Additionally, there is a punctuation error in the first paragraph with a comma splice ('at 52%, However'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a better grasp of verb tenses and article usage.
