The table below shows the change in some household types in Great Britain from 1971 to 2007.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table illustrates the transformation of type of households in Great Britain during the period of [redacted phone].

Overall, the data shows an increase in the number of one person households over the years. The different types of one family households depict a mixed trend, whereas lone parent types has increased noticeably.

The percentage of single person type was 6 in 1971, which has gone up gradually to 12 in 2001, however remains stagnant until 2007. The percentage of lone parent has also gone up from 4 to 12 over 4 decades.

The information shows that the percentage of no children couple category was 19 percentage in 1971 but slightly increased to 25 percentage in 2001 and then remains stable ntil 2007. On contrary to this trend, the percentage of couple with dependent children has decreased considerably. 52 percentage in 1971 has gone down to 39 in 2001, which was decreased again in 2007. Similarly the couple with non-dependent children has also decreased slightly.
