Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the table, such as the rise in one-person households and the trends in family types. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. For example, you mention that one-person households 'became double' but do not provide the specific data points to support this clearly. Additionally, the description of the 'couple' category is slightly confusing due to the lack of clear data referencing. To improve, ensure you select the most significant data points and compare them directly rather than listing trends for each category individually. The overview is also missing; a summary of the most significant overall trends would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The response is organised into a single block of text, which makes it difficult to follow. You should use clear paragraphing to separate the introduction, the overview, and the body paragraphs. While there are some cohesive devices used, such as 'The another group' and 'But the noticible point is', these are often used incorrectly or sound unnatural. The progression of ideas is somewhat repetitive, and the lack of paragraph breaks hinders the logical flow of the report. Using a wider range of linking words and better paragraph structure would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main points, such as 'remarkable increase', 'massive decrease', and 'stable'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'diveded', 'catagories', 'catagory', and 'noticible', which detract from the quality of the writing. Additionally, some word choices are imprecise, such as 'The unit has been given in the percentage' instead of 'The data is presented in percentages'. To reach a higher band, focus on accurate spelling and using more precise collocations related to data description.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors. Examples include 'Two types of household has been mentioned' (subject-verb agreement), 'The one person type households has been increased' (passive voice error), and 'fromy he year' (typo). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of hyphens and dashes. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction limit the score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for minor slips would be beneficial.
