The table below shows the change in some household types in Great Britain from 1971 to 2007.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table compares different types of households in Britain from 1971 to 2007. In summary, one person households and one-family households with no children and the lone parent category experienced a rise during this period, while one family households with dependent children experienced a sharp fall. Meanwhile, non dependednt children one family households remain steady throughout.

One person households, along with lone parent family households and couple households without any children, all saw a surge throughout this period. One person category rose from 6 in 1971 to 12 in 2007, while the no children category imrpoved from 19 to 25. In addition, the lone parent category recorded an increase from 6 to 12.

In contrast, couple households with dependent households experienced a steep fall, plummeting to 36 in 2007 from its initial value of 52 in 1971. Even after the fall, it still stood out as the highest category. Meanwhile, the non dependent children category remained relatively stable during this period, starting from 10 and finishing in 12
