The table below shows the change in some household types in Great Britain from 1971 to 2007.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The table illustrates information, given in percentages, about the types of households and families in Britain from 1971 to 2007.

Overall, there was a significant number in dependent children by the year 1971. While, lone parent and one person in houshold and family were fewer than the others. However, in one-family households couple with dependent children are the most throughout the period.

According to the table, in the year 1971, lone parent were only 4%, respectively. Whereas, there was a slight decling moment in dependent children by the year 1971 to 1991, 52% to 41%. Couple with no children were recorded similar in the year 2001 and 2007, 25%.

Looking in more detail, the percentage of one person in family doubled in 5 decades, from 1971 to 2007, 6% to 12%. And, non-dependent children has recorded 10% in 1971, followed by this data, couple with no children counted 25% in 2007.
