Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response fails to meet the minimum length requirement of 150 words, containing only 117 words, which significantly impacts Task Achievement. While the student attempts to provide an overview and mentions several categories from the table (such as one-person households, couples with no children, and lone parents), the selection and reporting of main features are confused and difficult to follow. For instance, the sentence listing a string of percentages '19%, 20%, 23%, 25%, 25%' mixed with '52, 47, 41, 39, 36 percentages' is ungrammatical and fails to clearly contrast the trends for couples with children versus couples without children. An overview is attempted with 'overall, it is evident that the single Family household account for higher percentage', but overall development is limited and marred by imprecise data handling.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into short paragraphs, but the overall structure and progression are hindered by poor sentence construction and inadequate use of cohesive devices. The second paragraph attempts an overview starting with 'overall, it is evident', but the capitalization and punctuation are faulty. Logical connection between sentences is weak; for example, jumping from 'one family households dominated the table' directly into a disjointed list of figures 'ranging from 19%, 20%, 23%, 25%, 25% where couples have no children. whereas, 52 ,47, 41,39,36 precentages respectively' lacks clear reference and organization. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion is frequently mechanical and confusing, making it hard for the reader to follow the comparison of trends over the timeline.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical range is quite limited and repetitive. The student uses basic vocabulary such as 'data', 'alterations', 'percentage', and 'types of household'. There are noticeable spelling and typographical errors, such as 'tpye', 'accomodations', and 'timestemp'. Word choice is frequently awkward or inaccurate, as seen in phrases like 'possess similar frequency' or 'acquired households types'. Less common lexical items are attempted but fail due to poor collocation and incorrect usage. These errors sometimes cause difficulty for the reader and reflect a restricted vocabulary suitable for a lower band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences are frequent, and attempts at complex structures are often faulty and ungrammatical, such as 'where couples have no children. whereas, 52 ,47, 41,39,36 precentages respectively in the year 1971,1981,1991,2001 and 2007.' There are persistent errors in subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'single Family household account'), punctuation, and capitalization (e.g., lowercase 'overall' at the start of a sentence). Errors occur frequently throughout the text and occasionally impede communication, placing the grammar performance firmly in the lower band range.
