Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response presents an overview of the main trends shown in the table, noting key figures such as the increase in one-person households and the general patterns among family types. However, there are some inaccuracies in reporting the data; for instance, the writer states that couples with dependent children had the biggest percentage 'although it had reducing it percentage evey ten year,' which misses the nuance that other categories changed differently. Furthermore, the final year is incorrectly stated as 207 instead of 2007. The overview is somewhat basic, but the response does touch upon the main features as required, though certain parts are under-developed or lack precise comparison.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response is organized into paragraphs, including an introduction and body paragraphs that attempt to discuss different sections of the table. However, the overall progression is limited and feels disjointed due to awkward transitions and mechanical use of cohesive devices, such as 'Then after couple who have no children thay have...' and 'Further analysis of the table represent that...'. Referencing and logical sequencing are occasionally unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of information smoothly from one data point to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, with noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling throughout the text. Examples include 'verious' instead of various, 'percebtage', 'similer', 'discribes' instead of describes, 'redusing' instead of reducing, and 'vey low'. While the student attempts to use some less common reporting vocabulary, inaccuracies in collocation and morphology are frequent and occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader in interpreting the precise meaning.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response employs a limited range of sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty. There are persistent errors in grammar, subject-verb agreement, and verb tenses, such as 'changes occured in verious household types', 'who is dependent childern had', 'couple who have no children thay have', and 'it declined by 6% and by 2007 it reached to 36%'. These frequent errors require the reader to slow down and can cause difficulty, placing the control of grammar at this level.
