Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt but suffers from significant structural issues. You present arguments for both sides, but the essay lacks a clear, consistent position. The initial paragraphs are disjointed, and the essay essentially restarts halfway through, leading to contradictory points. While you identify environmental and cultural impacts, the development is inconsistent. The inclusion of an economic argument is relevant to the topic, but it is not integrated well with the rest of the essay. To improve, ensure you have a clear thesis statement in the introduction and maintain a logical flow where each paragraph supports your overall stance.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a logical progression. The structure is severely compromised by the repetition of ideas and the disjointed nature of the paragraphs. For example, the argument about environmental damage is introduced, abandoned, and then repeated in the final paragraph. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore' and 'Moreover', but they are often applied mechanically or in contexts where the ideas do not follow logically. Paragraphing is present but ineffective because the content within the paragraphs is not unified. You need to plan your essay structure before writing to ensure each paragraph has a single, clear focus.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. You rely on basic phrasing and some awkward collocations, such as 'best deal to economies' instead of 'significant contribution' or 'major impact'. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'misuse of things' and 'natural climates' (which is not the correct term for natural environments). While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'historical significance' and 'aesthetic appeal', these are often overshadowed by repetitive and imprecise language. Expanding your range of synonyms and focusing on correct collocations will help improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'tourist will come'), article usage (e.g., 'in europe there is strict'), and sentence fragments or run-on sentences. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of semicolons and commas. While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they are often marred by errors in syntax. To reach a higher band, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
