Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging the negative impacts of tourism on culture and the environment. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention westernization and pollution, the arguments lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. For instance, the link between tourism and 'western branded clothes' is a bit tenuous and could be better connected to the broader concept of cultural erosion. To reach a higher band, ensure your examples are more clearly linked to the prompt's core question and provide a more nuanced discussion of the 'extent' of your agreement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'First and foremost', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'While it also have some causes towards local culture...'. The logical progression is present but could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next to avoid a repetitive structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'trending', 'problems', and 'attracting'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'economies crises' instead of 'economic crises' and 'after utilise' instead of 'after use'. To improve, focus on learning collocations and more academic synonyms for common words. Expanding your range to include more topic-specific vocabulary related to tourism and environmental impact would significantly enhance your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('it also have', 'youngsters preferred'), incorrect verb forms ('tourist using plastic items for utilise'), and awkward phrasing ('that's cause pollution'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic tense consistency and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately.
