Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is undeniable that travelling to vast countries for knowing different cultures and traditions become a major concern in modern era. In this regards, some people believe that tourism is one of the fastest growing industries and contributed a great deal to economies around the world while other say that the damage tourism can cause to local cultures and the environment is often ignored. I agree to a large extent with this notion due to many reasons which will outline in forthcoming fragments of this essay before reaching to a logical conclusion.
To commence with, there are several benefits of tourism as the fastest growing industries and contributed a great deal to economies. Firstly, travelling become a trend in modern world. To explain it, changes in taste and preferences of new generation adapt to travel to another countries. To illustrate, to explore the culture and taste of people in Korea directly contributes to the tourism. Secondly, conserving old buildings and working on advertisements related to historical places present in their country encourage foreigners to visit the country. To elaborate it, shopkeepers charge high prices for product from tourists it was there way to earn huge amount of money. Moreover, tourism directly contribute to the development of economy around the world as selling products at high prices and get better amount of money as tourist guide. This craze of travelling all over the world improve social, political and legal environment.
However, the damage tourism can cause to local cultures and the environment is often ignored. First and foremost, increasing trend of tourism effect local people badly. To discuss more, sometimes shopkeeper mistaken local masses as foreigners and charge high rate for commodities and often ignore the requirement of local individuals to earn high amount from the tourists. However, to attract tourist government preserve the old buildings and traditions which are bad for modern economy. Similar type of heritage buildings sometimes bored the tourists. Whereas, huge crowd in public places often cause huge waste and effect the environment badly.
To conclude, although there are several problems of latter point of view such as affecting modern society and impact on environment yet according to me tourists is one of the fastest growing industries and contributes a great deal to economies all over the world and never neglected at any cost.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a position throughout, though the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. While you acknowledge both sides of the argument, the supporting points are occasionally unclear or illogical. For example, the claim that preserving old buildings is 'bad for modern economy' is not well-supported and contradicts the earlier point about tourism boosting the economy. Furthermore, the argument regarding shopkeepers mistaking locals for foreigners is tangential to the core issue of environmental and cultural damage. To improve, ensure that each paragraph focuses on a clear, distinct argument that directly supports your thesis with logical reasoning and relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Firstly', and 'However'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural. The progression of ideas within paragraphs is occasionally disjointed, particularly in the second body paragraph where the transition between shopkeepers, government policy, and environmental waste feels abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the use of 'latter point of view' in the conclusion, which does not clearly map back to the specific arguments presented. Improving the flow between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'undeniable', 'economies', and 'commodities'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'vast countries for knowing different cultures' (instead of 'visiting countries to experience'), 'new generation adapt to travel' (instead of 'are inclined to travel'), and 'similar type of heritage buildings sometimes bored the tourists'. These errors occasionally impede the precision of your argument. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations more accurately and expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary related to tourism and sustainability.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('travelling become a trend', 'tourism directly contribute'), incorrect verb tenses ('contributed a great deal' when referring to a general fact), and missing articles. Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence structure is often repetitive. While these errors do not completely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your score.
