Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt, but the development of ideas is inconsistent. While you acknowledge the economic benefits of tourism, the discussion regarding the damage to local cultures and the environment is vague and lacks specific, well-supported examples. The prompt asks for the extent of your agreement, but your position is somewhat repetitive rather than analytical. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a distinct aspect of the argument—such as economic growth in one paragraph and environmental/cultural degradation in another—and provide concrete, real-world examples to substantiate your claims rather than repeating general statements about 'advanced techniques'.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is often hindered by repetitive phrasing and unclear transitions. For example, the phrase 'To illustrate' is used to introduce ideas that do not clearly support the preceding sentence. Cohesive devices are present but are often used mechanically or incorrectly, such as 'In reason that' or 'In this modern era'. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each sentence flows naturally from the one before it, creating a clearer argument structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive, with frequent reliance on basic terms like 'advanced', 'develop', and 'economy'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'participate and experience to different art' and 'tie up with'. These errors occasionally make the meaning difficult to follow. To improve, try to incorporate more precise vocabulary related to tourism and its impacts, such as 'infrastructure', 'cultural erosion', 'environmental degradation', or 'economic prosperity'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('tourism help', 'many damages caused'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward sentence construction ('In reason that, tourism is one of the main factor'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these persistent errors prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralisation and verb forms, and try to vary your sentence structures with more confidence.
