Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that tourism by itself brings more drawbacks to country rather than benefits, meanwhile, others think otherwise and counter argue that it helps to grow a strong society amoung young generation. Overall, there seems to be more advantages than disdvantages to justify the actions of a governments. Will this arguments be enough for one side to dominate on the other side?

To begin with, the main reason why tourism still plays a significant role in country development is because it helps with its income from tourists. If the tourism hotspots interests people around, then it will be a great idea to recover its surroundings for the individuals convinient. This system started along ago until our days and slowly developped into a cyclic system. Besides that, areas with high tourists around mostly seemed to face many other cultures from all around the world. This teaches people of all generations to share respect to guests and learn about others more clearly.

All the consecuenses of a human actions are often showed on the environment and also on the local culture. Giving respect to others doesn't always mean they mind to show it back. Many hotspots are beeing violated and starts to attrack people less. But to solve this, government often make a speech and some tour guides before tourists before even leave an airports. After inventing this method of short education, the number of vandalism moderately declined in a few decades. Even though, the second most ignored problem is an extinction or slightly damaging is beeing spread amoung cultures who accepts people around. All of the new ones who came with their own cultural acceptance cause arguments between citizens eventually ending with one culture to gain pre-dominance on the other. The way we can solve it includes to make strict rules for tourists to contribute in development of a culture and tradition.

By concluding, i strongly agree with allowing tourism in many parts of the world, simply because it helps to efficiently develop environment and teach people for worldwide communication between cultures.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the economic benefits and the cultural/environmental drawbacks of tourism. However, the development of ideas is somewhat inconsistent. While the economic benefits are mentioned, the explanation of cultural damage is vague, particularly the point about 'arguments between citizens'. The position is clear, but the supporting arguments lack depth and specific examples, relying instead on generalisations. To improve, you should provide concrete examples of how tourism impacts a specific environment or culture, rather than speaking in abstract terms. The conclusion is clear, but the overall development of the argument remains at a Band 6 level due to the lack of detailed support.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, and there is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'This system started along ago until our days'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to follow the link between ideas. For instance, the transition between the environmental damage and the proposed solution is abrupt. Improving the variety and precision of linking words (e.g., 'consequently', 'furthermore', 'in contrast') would help the flow of the essay and move it into a higher band.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and sophistication. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and incorrect word choices, such as 'counter argue that it helps to grow a strong society amoung young generation' and 'consecuenses of a human actions'. Spelling errors like 'amoung', 'consecuenses', and 'developped' are frequent. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'vandalism' and 'pre-dominance', the overall range is limited. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure accurate spelling of common academic terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('government often make a speech'), article usage ('before even leave an airports'), and awkward sentence construction ('The way we can solve it includes to make strict rules'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy, particularly with pluralisation and verb forms, to ensure your complex sentences are error-free.
