Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, tourism is an economic booster. A group of people believe that, travel has great opportunity to enhance the financial system. While, other are counter-claim that, tourism has few disadvantages such as, it can disrupt the . In my opinion, I agree with topic to a larger extent that, the tourism has enormous benefits to the host country. Yet, we can not ignore negative point in certain situation.
The fundamental reason for my inclination is that, there are ample of positive aspects of tourism. First and foremost is, tourism helps to gain more knowledge about other cultures. In addition to, People are not only entertain themselves, but also explore new places and new country. Beside this, tourism play a significant role in local people. Because there are plenty of local markets that helps to earn money from the travelers. To cite an example, Rajasthan is the one of the most beautiful city in India and it is well-known for history. Many foreigners visit this place every year. There are many things which more popular, such as hand made bangles, clothes. As a consequence, foreigner purchase these things for memories and local people earn money from it.
Furthermore, international tourism is that non-natives get deep knowledge related to the other country's cultures as well as traditions. International tourism is also beneficial to the country not only, economic growth, but also represent their culture as well. For instance, India is a diverse nation and there are enormous places such as Taj mahal, other places. As per the survey of Times of India, thousands of foreigners visit this place.
Conversely, there are few demerits of the tourism. Firstly, visitors are through food packets around the palace. It cause place become more polluted. Moreover, sometimes culture dispute could be created between local people and visitors.
To conclude, it can be asserted from the above discussion that, positive sides of tourism are significantly more benefits as compare to the negative side.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging both the economic benefits and the negative impacts of tourism. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention cultural exchange and economic growth, the arguments lack depth and specific analysis. For instance, the discussion on environmental damage is very brief and lacks concrete examples. The position is clear, but the supporting points are often repetitive or under-developed. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, well-explained idea supported by a detailed example, rather than listing multiple points briefly.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'Beside this' and 'In addition to' are used incorrectly or awkwardly. There are also issues with referencing; for example, the sentence 'tourism play a significant role in local people' is unclear. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the transition between the benefits and the drawbacks. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help the flow of your writing significantly.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good' or 'benefits' and struggle with collocations, such as 'tourism is an economic booster' or 'visitors are through food packets'. There are also some word-choice errors, such as using 'city' to describe Rajasthan, which is a state. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct context, such as 'economic catalyst' instead of 'booster'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('tourism play'), incorrect preposition usage, and missing articles. For example, 'A group of people believe that, travel has great opportunity' contains unnecessary punctuation and awkward phrasing. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage.
