Student answer (Band 5.5)
In modern era, tourism is the fastest growing industries and contributes a great deal to economies around the world. Although tourism is also harm the natural culture and way of life. I strongly agree with this statement that the negative impact of tourism on ;local culture and environment is critically overlooked.
To begin with, the first and foremost reason is that, environment degradation caused by tourisms because huge numbers of tourist require accommodation so cleared natural area, like trees and build roads along with hotels, restaurents. In other words, natural landscape is also sacrificed to create modern facilities for people. As the result , it significant impact on ecosystem , animal loss their homes. For example, in Goa many resort dump their rubbish , plastic and dirty water into beaches.
Furthermore, another important reason is, local people changed their customers just to get money from foreigners. In other words they show their dances and rituals on cheapest price. As a result the unique culture disappears directly and young people forget their real history. For instance, in Bali traditional temple sell the tickets for cheap dance shows, and local cafes replaced by international fast- food restaurents.
In conclusion, I strongly agree that the negative impact of tourisms on local culture and environment is often ignored.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the essay is significantly under the 250-word minimum requirement, which limits the depth of development. While the ideas regarding environmental degradation and cultural erosion are relevant, they are not fully extended. The conclusion is also quite brief. To improve, you must expand your arguments with more detailed analysis and ensure the essay meets the minimum length requirement to avoid a penalty.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with,' 'Furthermore,' and 'In other words.' However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the flow is interrupted by grammatical errors. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure would benefit from more sophisticated transitions between sentences to improve the logical flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision. You use basic terms like 'huge numbers' and 'cheapest price' which could be replaced with more academic alternatives. There are also some errors in word choice, such as 'tourisms' (pluralization error) and 'customers' (when you likely meant 'customs'). To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Examples include 'tourism is also harm' (incorrect verb form), 'cleared natural area' (missing articles/prepositions), and 'animal loss their homes' (subject-verb agreement). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the placement of commas and the use of semicolons. You need to focus on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors.
