Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging the growth of tourism and the potential for damage, but the development is inconsistent. While you provide reasons for tourism's benefits, the counter-argument regarding environmental and cultural damage is barely addressed. The third paragraph is particularly weak, as it fails to explain how or why government actions might harm tourism or why the environment is ignored. To improve, you need to provide more balanced, well-supported arguments for both sides of the issue. The position is clear, but the supporting evidence, such as the example of 'Punjab wears caps', is too specific and lacks the analytical depth required for an academic essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Moreover', they are used in a somewhat mechanical way. The referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the third paragraph, where the connection between government action and the damage to culture is confusing. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, unified topic sentence that flows logically into the next.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range expected at higher levels. You rely on simple phrases like 'increase economics' and 'many other things'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'people are very fascinating to explore' (should be 'fascinated by') and 'energies the battery' (which is an informal idiom). To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and precise terminology related to the topic of tourism and economic development, while ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede communication. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('tourism industry experience', 'citizens really wants'), incorrect verb forms ('tourism is play'), and punctuation errors (e.g., 'For instance.,'). The sentence structures are mostly simple or contain errors when you attempt more complex constructions. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions. Reviewing the rules for sentence construction will help you produce more error-free sentences, which is essential for achieving a higher band score.
