Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt, but the development of ideas is significantly hampered by unclear expression and a lack of logical progression. While you state a position, the supporting arguments are fragmented and often disconnected from the topic of tourism's impact on culture and the environment. For instance, the second paragraph mentions 'lack of knowledge' and 'sign boards' without explaining how these relate to the damage caused by tourism. The ideas are under-developed, and the essay fails to provide a coherent argument, making it difficult for the reader to follow your reasoning. To improve, ensure each paragraph focuses on a single, clear point supported by relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the internal flow is weak. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Moreover' and 'In conclusion', but they are often applied mechanically or inappropriately, failing to create a logical link between sentences. The progression of ideas is disjointed; for example, the transition from the introduction to the body paragraphs is abrupt, and the sentences within the body paragraphs often lack a clear relationship to one another. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall structure feels repetitive rather than progressive. More attention should be paid to using linking words that accurately reflect the logical relationship between your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The range of vocabulary is limited and frequently inaccurate. There are numerous spelling errors (e.g., 'globely', 'servals', 'citied', 'envirment', 'pittful', 'amparitve', 'groverment') and word-choice issues that occasionally impede communication. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use less common items correctly. Phrases like 'maximum output' and 'minimize its cons' are not used in a way that fits the context of environmental or cultural damage. To improve, focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic words and practice using collocations—words that naturally go together—rather than attempting complex vocabulary that you are not yet comfortable with.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often make the meaning difficult to grasp. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack necessary components, such as 'It is possible to claim that globely tourism industries are booming and playing important role in economics'. The use of complex structures is attempted but is consistently faulty, leading to confusion. While simple sentences are generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and punctuation significantly impacts the clarity of your writing. Focus on mastering basic sentence construction before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
