Student answer (Band 5.0)
Tourism is one of the fastest growing industries and contributes a great deal to economies around the world. However, the damage tourism can cause to local cultures and the environment is often ignored. I do agree that tourism is the fast growing industries. Thus, discussed in this essay.
Nowaday's, people usually like visit famous places. Tourism is one of the most profitable business and currently fast growing industries and gives a great amount of economies around the world. Countries like UAE, Thailand, Singapore and Japan are very famous for their tourist attractions. A report say's that UAE's economy totally depends on their tourist attractions. Approximately 90% of the money comes from their tourism. Only Burj khalifa contributes around 60% of money for UAE. However these countries only rely on the tourism. These countries are giving some better opportunities for their local peoples to develop some local business which can also helpful to that particular country.
Still other peoples believe that the damage tourism can cause to local cultures and the environment is often ignored. This is partically true not completely because tourist people often finds their own cultural people For example: South Hampton is the place in United Kingdomwhere mostly Indian peoples are living over there. Additonally they had set up the Indian restuarent, Mall, Indian stores and so on. That's the reason that some people feel that they are lossing their culture.
I do agree that Tourist peoples spents a lots of money in their tour such as in restuarents, buying tickets and so on.
In conclusion, Some countries rely on the tourism and 90% of money is directly contributed to that country. It brings the money with diversity. But some nusense peoples often makes uncomfortable to the local peoples even they try to destory local cultures of that country

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging both the economic benefits and the potential negative impacts of tourism. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. The argument regarding the UAE is factually questionable and lacks a clear connection to the prompt's focus on cultural and environmental damage. The discussion on cultural impact is vague and relies on an anecdotal example that does not clearly illustrate the 'damage' mentioned in the prompt. The position is stated but not consistently supported throughout the essay, leading to a somewhat superficial treatment of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression between ideas is often weak. The transition between the economic benefits and the cultural impact is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often mechanical or misused (e.g., 'Thus, discussed in this essay', 'Still other peoples'). Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the internal structure of paragraphs lacks a strong thematic focus, making it difficult for the reader to follow the argument's development.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'fast growing industries' instead of 'a fast-growing industry' and 'local peoples' instead of 'local people'. The use of 'nusense' is an informal and inaccurate spelling of 'nuisance'. While the student attempts to use topic-related vocabulary, the lack of precision and the presence of spelling errors (e.g., 'partically', 'restuarent') restrict the range and clarity of the expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout, including subject-verb agreement issues ('A report say's', 'tourist peoples spents'), incorrect use of articles, and punctuation errors (e.g., 'Nowaday's'). Complex structures are attempted but are often faulty, which causes some difficulty for the reader. The frequency of these errors is high, indicating a lack of control over basic grammatical rules, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.
