Student answer (Band 5.5)

TOURISM IS THE HIGHEST GROWING INDUSTRIES AND HELPS NATION ECONOMIES IN A BIG WAY AL OVER THE WORLD. HOWEVER, THE BROKEN TOURISM CAN HARM TO THE REGIONAL CULTURES AND THE SURROUNDING IS EASYLY IGNORED. I STROGLY AGREE WITH THIS STATMENT ABOVE. BOTH THE ADREE AND DISAGREE VIEW IS EXPLAINED IN UPCOMING PARAGRAPH.

ONE OF THE PRIMARY REASON IS, HARM OF ENVIRONMENT AND DAMAGING TO THE TOURIST PLACE. TO ELABRATE, THE PEOPLE WHO COMES TO VISIT THE PLACE DAMAGE THE PROPERY AND THROW PACKES AND EVERYTHING ON THAT PLACE. SO MANY PEOPLE COMES TO VISIT THE SAME PLACE CAN INCREASE THE TRAFFIC AND CARDON GAS IN ENVIRONMENT. FOR EXAMPLE, IF THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WANT TO SEE THE TAJ MAHAL ON ONE DAY THEN TRAFFIC INCREASE AND PEOPLE WILL THROW THE THING IN THE TAJ MAHAL PROPERTY.

SECOND REASON WHY TOURISM CAUSE THE WORLD IS LOCAL CULTURES. PEOPLE FROM ALL AROUND THE WORLD VISIT THE TOURIST PLACE, THE LOCAL PEOPLE OBSERVE THEM AND TRY TO ADPAT THERE STYLE AND FOOD WHICH DAMAGES THERE OWN CULTURES. TO EXAMPLIFY, A PERSON FROM USA VISIT THE JAIPUR FORT. THE LOCAL PEOPLE SEE THEM AND TRY TO COPY THERE CHOTHS, LANGUAGE AND FOOD.

ON THE OTHER SIDE, TOURISM HELPS IN NATION ECONOMY ON A LARGE SCALE. THERE ARE SO MANY PLACES AROUND THE WORLD AND NUMBER OF PEOPLE DAILY VISIT THAT PLACES WHICH HELPS IN THE NATION GROWTH AND IN EARNING MONEY.

IN CONCULSION, TOURISM AFFECT THE PLACES, CULTURES AND ENVIRONMENT IN VARIOUS WAYS. BUT IT ALSO HELPS IN WORLD ECONOMIC GROWTH.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging both the economic benefits and the negative impacts of tourism. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you provide examples like the Taj Mahal and Jaipur, the explanation of how these impacts occur is somewhat superficial. The position is clear, but the essay lacks a nuanced discussion of the 'extent' to which you agree. The conclusion is very brief and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a deeper analysis of the consequences rather than just listing examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'One of the primary reason is', 'Second reason why'). There are instances where the logical flow between sentences is disjointed, such as in the second paragraph where the transition from environmental damage to traffic is abrupt. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the overall progression of ideas could be smoother. Using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring clear topic sentences would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'broken tourism' instead of 'negative impacts' or 'the surrounding' instead of 'the environment'. Spelling errors are frequent (e.g., 'STROGLY', 'STATMENT', 'ADPAT', 'CHOTHS', 'CONCULSION'), which occasionally makes the text difficult to read. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more academic collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of common terms related to the topic of tourism and environment.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. While there are attempts at complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('people who comes', 'tourism cause the world') and incorrect article usage. Punctuation is generally functional, but the frequency of errors in basic grammar is high enough to cause some difficulty for the reader. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of plural/singular nouns, and try to incorporate more varied complex sentence structures with greater accuracy.
