Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argue that traveling is one of the rapidly bosting industries and it will help to contribute significant growth in nation GDP and economies world widely. However, this can also harmful to the environment which is not notable. I agree with this statement to some extent I believe growth in countries GDB is well because it produce jobs for people and help individual to earn money; on the other hand, damage local culture and harm environment should also be taken into consideration.

To begin with, one of the main reasons for my view is that at the highest rate of tourism will generate good number of new job opportunity and help people to earn money. To elaborate more, If tourism is at peak local can earn money by providing them food , stay and guidance which generate good amount of money for individual. To add to this, tourism connect people and nation with different region people in results made good and healthy relationship with two nation and two people which also reduce conflict between two countries.

Another, significant factor that should be consider is not to harm environment and local culture. In other words, nowadays you see people can through garbage's to the road , in the river which harm our god's own nature. For instance, individual can travel to the hill station for vacation and when they return from destination they through their garbage's on the road and also insult local culture with bad jokes which is not good as human; hence this further supports the view that we have to respect local culture, people and nature.

In conclusion, although there are valid argument on both side, I firmly believe that tourism industries is fast moving which is really good for our nation as it helps country and their people. While, I believe we need to maintain our nature as same as they deserve.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by acknowledging both the economic benefits and the negative impacts of tourism. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the argument regarding job creation is repetitive, and the discussion on environmental damage relies on anecdotal observations rather than a more analytical approach. The position is clear, but the 'extent' of agreement could be more nuanced. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or deeper explanations of how tourism policies can mitigate these negative effects, rather than just stating that they exist.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'To begin with', 'Another, significant factor', and 'In conclusion', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'To add to this, tourism connect people'. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, and the flow between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that pronouns clearly refer back to their antecedents would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and sophistication required for higher bands. There are several instances of incorrect word forms or collocations, such as 'rapidly bosting industries' (likely meant 'booming') and 'through garbage's' (should be 'throw garbage'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on basic descriptors. To improve, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that word forms (nouns vs. verbs) are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('tourism connect people'), article usage, and incorrect verb tenses ('it produce jobs'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and subject-verb agreement would be a significant step forward.
