Student answer (Band 6.0)
Tourism is a rapidly growing industry that increase the economy of the countries across the world. However, it damages the local culture and environment. I highly support this argument and by this essay I will support my point.
Tourism contributes to ones economy. It brings immence industrialization to the tourist areas, which promotes job oppertunities for young youth. For instance, people invest in building cafes, parks and hotels at tourist spots which increase labor jobs for the locals. Likewise,it improves the infrastructure of the cities. Better roads, airports and hospitals were build to attract national and nternational tourist from the world. These efforts as whole increase the gdp of the country increasing it's economy.
In contrast, tourism is a biggest threat to local culture and environment. Every year millions of trees were cut down to build industries and hotel for tourists. This effects the ecosystem of our country. By deforestation not only we are causing air pollution but due to loss in habitat many animals are getting extinct day by day. Moreover, heavy tourist cause excess waste and blocks water resources, which effectss the life of natives. Similarly, local culture is lossing it's authenticity to attract tourists. We are adapting to their culture in order to make them feel familiar. At tourist spots, expensive residence cause the natives to move to another city.
Although, tourism generates economy per year, it also brings problems with it. It's getting hard for us to protect our culture and environment. Hence, I agree to my opinion

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses all parts of the prompt, clearly stating a position in favor of the argument that tourism damages culture and the environment. The ideas are relevant, such as the mention of infrastructure development versus deforestation and cultural erosion. However, the development is somewhat uneven. While the economic benefits are mentioned, the discussion on cultural impact is a bit generalized. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of how exactly local culture is 'losing its authenticity' rather than just stating it. Overall, the position is clear and maintained throughout the response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'Likewise', 'In contrast', and 'Moreover' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally mechanical, and some transitions feel slightly forced. Referencing is generally clear, though there are minor issues with pronoun usage (e.g., 'it's' instead of 'its'). Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the economic benefits from the environmental and cultural drawbacks, which helps the reader follow your argument easily.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'industrialization', 'deforestation', and 'authenticity'. However, there are several word-choice errors and spelling mistakes that slightly hinder the flow, such as 'immence' (immense), 'oppertunities' (opportunities), 'nternational' (international), and 'lossing' (losing). Additionally, the phrase 'young youth' is redundant. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring accurate spelling of academic vocabulary. The range is sufficient to convey your meaning, but lacks the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('tourism... increase', 'heavy tourist cause'), incorrect verb tenses ('hospitals were build'), and confusion between 'effect' and 'affect'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. To improve, pay closer attention to verb forms, pluralization, and the correct usage of articles and possessive pronouns.
