Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 156 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the essay introduces the topic of tourism's economic importance, it fails to address the second part of the prompt regarding the damage to local cultures and the environment. The argument is incomplete and lacks a clear position on the extent of agreement or disagreement. The response is essentially a list of economic facts rather than a balanced discussion of the prompt's core conflict. To improve, you must address all parts of the question and provide a structured argument with sufficient supporting evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear logical progression. Paragraphing is absent, and the text ends abruptly mid-sentence, which disrupts the flow of ideas. While there are some attempts at cohesive devices, such as 'As a result' and 'In my opinion', they are used in a limited and sometimes mechanical way. The connection between the economic benefits of tourism and the mention of medical tourism or specific palaces in Pakistan is tenuous and lacks clear transitions. The lack of a conclusion or a coherent structure makes the text difficult to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is basic and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'Medically tourism' instead of 'Medical tourism' and 'everyone country' instead of 'every country'. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying on simple terms to express complex economic concepts. To achieve a higher band score, you should aim to use more precise terminology related to the topic, such as 'economic reliance', 'environmental degradation', or 'cultural preservation', and ensure that words are used in their correct grammatical form.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with article usage ('The tourism', 'in world'), subject-verb agreement ('tourism play'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack necessary components. There is a very limited range of complex structures, and the existing simple sentences often contain errors. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, including correct article usage and verb tense consistency, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
