Student answer (Band 5.0)

I agree with the first statement which is tourism is the fastest growing industry which is contributing a great impact throught out the world. the reason behind this is it is the best way to show your culture and values to others. its also the best way to show the evolovement of civilization to other people. when a tourits come to any other country for visit he not only see their sceneries they also go thorough with tradations with their food and living style.

It also help to create a bussiness environment . People who are living their must be selling the specailties of their country or the specific area .It could be hand made clothes their specific dressing , untensills, food , and etc. How these things are benifiacial people who are living their they get their ioncome from their small businesses which help them to feed their families and maintain the cycle of life.

Tourisim is contrubuting great deal through out the world the every thing whioch is involved in this get benfit like if a person is coming from an other countery he have to pay for visa, Travel tickets, then for accomodation, also for laundry, for food . Eventually they have to pay for every basic need for life. This also help to increase the GDP of country which is hosting toursism at that time . if GDP of any country is raising it will also to lervel up the economy anf it cauases zero damage for local cultures and environments.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but fails to engage with the second part of the question regarding the damage tourism causes to local cultures and the environment. The student asserts that tourism causes 'zero damage,' which is a significant over-generalisation and ignores the core premise of the prompt. While the economic benefits are discussed, the lack of balance and the failure to acknowledge the negative impacts mentioned in the task instructions limit the development of the argument. To improve, the student must address both sides of the issue rather than dismissing the negative aspects entirely.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often disjointed. Transitions between sentences are frequently missing or mechanical, such as the repetitive use of 'It also help' and 'This also help.' The logical progression is hindered by the lack of clear linking words to connect the economic benefits to the broader argument. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the cohesion required for a higher band. Improving the use of cohesive devices like 'furthermore,' 'consequently,' or 'in contrast' would significantly enhance the readability.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, relying on basic terms like 'best way,' 'things,' and 'help.' There are frequent spelling errors such as 'throught out,' 'evolovement,' 'tourits,' 'tradations,' 'bussiness,' 'specailties,' 'untensills,' 'benifiacial,' 'ioncome,' 'contrubuting,' 'whioch,' 'countery,' 'accomodation,' and 'anf.' These errors, combined with the lack of academic vocabulary, make the text difficult to follow at times. To achieve a higher score, the student needs to expand their range of vocabulary and focus on accurate spelling and word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('It also help,' 'if GDP... is raising'), article misuse, and incorrect sentence structure. Punctuation is inconsistent, with many missing commas and incorrect spacing. While there is an attempt at complex sentences, they are often faulty, such as 'if a person is coming from an other countery he have to pay for visa.' The high density of errors frequently impedes communication. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would be a good starting point for improvement.
