Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required word count of 250 words, ending abruptly at 139 words. Because the essay is incomplete, the task is only partially addressed. While you establish a clear position in the introduction, the body paragraphs are underdeveloped, and the second body paragraph is cut off mid-sentence. To achieve a higher band, you must fully develop your arguments with supporting examples and ensure the essay reaches the minimum length requirement to allow for a full discussion of the prompt.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay shows a basic attempt at logical organization with an introduction and two body paragraphs. However, the abrupt ending severely impacts the overall coherence. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'In addition' are used correctly to signal transitions, but the lack of completion makes the progression of ideas feel disjointed. To improve, focus on completing your thoughts and using a wider variety of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly throughout the entire response.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'influx of capital' and 'domestic economies'. However, there are some inaccuracies, such as 'upbringing the countries' (which is an incorrect collocation; 'developing' or 'promoting' would be better) and a spelling error ('sucj'). The vocabulary is generally functional but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. Expanding your range of topic-specific collocations and ensuring accurate word choice will help improve your score in this area.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'tourism sector is experiencing' (missing an article: 'the tourism sector') and 'it also have some drawbacks' (subject-verb agreement error: 'it also has'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the clarity of your writing. You should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles to improve your grammatical accuracy.
