Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed all parts of the prompt and maintained a clear position throughout. You successfully balanced the economic benefits of tourism with the negative impacts on culture and the environment. However, some ideas could be more fully developed. For instance, while you mention that tourism causes environmental degradation, the explanation of how this happens is somewhat brief. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is supported by more detailed analysis or specific examples. Your conclusion is a bit abrupt and could better synthesize the main arguments presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each focusing on a distinct theme. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'First of all' and 'For instance', to link ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the transition 'Although, tourism provides... but it also has...', which contains a redundant 'but'. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'inhabitants of there place'. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'devastating effects', 'biodiversity', and 'detrimental'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'it boosting the economic conditions' (should be 'it boosts') and 'luxury roads' (which is not a standard collocation). There are also minor grammatical errors affecting word forms, such as 'the negative consequences... is not underestimated' (should be 'are'). Expanding your range of academic vocabulary and focusing on correct word combinations will improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('many local shops... they provides'), incorrect article usage ('the environment' vs 'environment'), and awkward phrasing ('their communities are become dominated'). These errors are noticeable and occur regularly, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like verb tense and pluralization.
