Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position ('I fully agree with this statement') and discusses both local cultures and the environment, albeit superficially. Ideas such as tourists misbehaving at spiritual places or littering in Shimla are presented to support the argument. However, the development is limited and repetitive, with over-generalised statements rather than well-extended arguments. While the response touches upon all parts of the task, the depth of discussion places it firmly in the Band 5 category, as the ideas are under-developed and lack mature elaboration.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The essay is divided into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a brief conclusion, indicating a basic paragraph structure. However, the overall progression is heavily hindered by disjointed sentences and misuse of cohesive devices. Transitional phrases such as 'To be more precise', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclusion' are either used incorrectly or do not logically fit the context. Referencing is also faulty, for instance, using 'They thought anywhere' and 'Looking at, I went to Shimla'. Consequently, the logical flow is repeatedly disrupted, characteristic of Band 4 organisation and cohesion.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by severe word choice and collocation errors. Examples include 'boost country economy', 'greatest growing company', 'around environment', and 'people ate thought waste anywhere'. The student attempts less common items like 'articulate' and 'spiritual place', but these are used incorrectly or awkwardly. Frequent errors in word formation and phrasing cause considerable strain for the reader throughout the text, matching the descriptors for Band 4.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

Grammatical control is weak, with a very limited range of sentence structures. The majority of sentences contain major errors in tense, subject-verb agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples of errors include 'In rapidly evolving world', 'many tourist can ignored', 'They get's wrong idea', and 'environment are polluted'. Complex structures are attempted—for example, in conditional or relative clauses—but they invariably result in faulty, non-sensical grammar. Errors are frequent and often distort meaning, aligning with Band 4.
